  1. So pulled apart the BMX this avo, but got stuck with getting the crank off, so need a bit of help from the bike boes. I believe its a single piece, but have no idea how to get it off, got the nut and washer off and then there is this underneath. Any ideas what to do next?
  2. Just spend an obscene(sp?) amount of money on wheels for this BMX, better be worth it, only need a sweet chain, brake cables, rat trap pedals and an old plastic seat and then it'll be mostly done besides paint. Wheels:
  3. also sweet dyno and light, does it work?
  4. Look at 1st photo, that last one the frame is upside down, looks like there should be almost enough adjustment in the dropouts to tension a chain. Would have expected more on an old bike like this though. Good shit though, I need to get my act together and decide what to do on my bikes.
  5. fuck me mates rates?/hook us up I need to find a place that cheap up here.
  6. I'm gunna go and assume thats per wheel otherwise that will blow my mind
  7. details on powder coating? who and how much, unless I have missed it above?
  8. Hmm you are right re rust location, I had just been picturing a hole smack in the middle. May be more of a cunt to fix. Its a $300 car with loads of spares, so may still be worth getting regardless and just get a quick rust fix. Am seeing car on weekend so will just have to see how it goes.
  9. Seeing I made the mistake of posting a tech q in spam...lol Am looking at a car for a track hack, has a "small rust hole" in the fire wall. For repairs to this for wof (assuming it is small) am I able to cut out rust and then make round and fill hole with a grommet of some sort?
  10. Ah yep that south african dude is a GC. I forget his name, old fella though right. Apparently he is ex SA police and tough as nails. Parking on grass = unlikely, as they are really picky about it getting cut up. Hence the use of the gators and no farm bikes. Although I do have contacts at the rugby club round the corner on puriri drive (my rugby club) so could see if they want to make some coin there by parking on one of the fields. I'll spin a yarn to her old man, and to the business manager and see what strings can be pulled. If I can make it come across as a bit of fundraising etc coming there way I'm sure they will go for it. As long as behaviour is sweet can't really see it being an issue, carpark preference - the one thats just off the big roundabout sunken garden thing on the greenlane road side?
  11. I think the c160 takes about the same as a C52/C56 which is just over 2L
  12. 2e corolla would hit 160, steering wheel play became worrying at that speed though
  13. Mrs' old man runs the farm there these days so I'll have a yarn about it this week when I am next round there, see what can be done. Pity I won't have a car worthy of displaying by then
  14. Did you guys have issues getting a park last year, I could have a word to the management at cornwall park and try suss out some organisation from their part if keen. Would probably mean a bit of a koha to go to the community trust though
  15. so whats the plan motor wise? I see you sold your old one but didnt see details of new motor? Maybe I'm blind? Any way gutted about the longchamps, They would have looke dthe bizzo. If you went through payapal they can take your money back off them, happenned to my mrs as well.
  16. I used a guy down in te kauwhata, he bought a windsurfer off me and let me use his trailer for a long weekend for $50. He makes them in his spare time. If its just for a day though, I'd just go to hirepool or something, and do a mission and try get the half day rate.
  17. but pinto + webber as keywords? trademe would go beserk
  18. Have you got your heart set on the box-car? If not get an ef and never worry about distributors. Some people have issues with them, but mine was faultless till the poor girl got rammed from behind
  19. Speaketh the truth Plus a even if there is a bit of outlay cost, it would be more than payed back by 1000% increase in awesomeness over existing
  20. Managed to fix the chain, I guess it had wrapped itself around the tensioner twice and thats how the loops got in it, so that was done. 'Adjusted' the front gear changer, rear is still out of whack, clips the spokes when you try change onto the largest diameter rear gear. Will also 'adjust' this. Handle bars were loose so tightened them, but overtightened the stem so was a bit stiff to turn. WIll need to loosen it off. Pumped up tires, 65psi rear, front said 100psi, but petrol station pump maxed out at 85. Tyres look cheap as, Made in Taiwan. So may replace at some stage. Need to adjust rear brake as its not pulling tight enough. After all that gave it some CRC 5.56 and went for a sweet ride. Apparently I do not look graceful on a bike, lol. So plan is to fix the niggles, get the autosol out to give bare metal a polish. Then strip it down, sand and paint, new wheels and tires. new handle bars. Done deal.
  21. Forgot to add I got this off trademe today, just because...it was cheap If I dont like the twin top tube of the supersport I will roll this healing HMX500
  22. That would be most excellent, this is my chain problem. forgot to rotate photos, I may give it a jiggle tomorrow, but don't want to fuck up the shifters. Front changer Rear changer And bike in lounge shot Also bought a NOS rear shimano hub just because it was cheap. hopefully it is compatible otherwise will flick on. iS the same vintage as the bike so will hopefully work/probably not/will costa fortune to get a wheel spoked to it.
  23. Just got the road bike home, turns out the chain is fuxord. will have to take a look at it tomorrow, looks like its wrapped around the front and rear gear changer-ers. Hopefully I can get it going without taking to a bike shop. On taht note, anyone her ein Auckland work at a bike shop. Also road bike has horizontal dropouts for rear wheel so fixie could be on the cards long term.
