  1. For your safety, and the safety of others on the road, I think you should get a mechanic to do it for ya
  2. Usually I could have a look depending on car / location, but on a course for 2 weeks so no spare time for a bit. Fancy seeing you there Are they on oldschool or just got it through trademe? Get the new one in alright?
  3. This will be a project to watch! Just a thought, do you know what it weighs now? Could be interesting to have before and after weights
  4. The glass on the gauge might fog up?
  5. Never installed one myself, but i'll have a guess that the bottom feeds are for the gauge itself, and the top ones are to do with possibly a backlight, the constant feed makes me think it needs power for a memory, but that doesn't sound right EDIT: too slow
  6. Heading along on Saturday, should be mint.
  7. Does the ball joint just get pushed out the bottom? Mine are ripped on the crossmember -> hub ball joint. (think thats right) Doing all the ball joints in the esky, and assume the steering rack ones you just buy whole ends for ease and screw em on?
  8. Depends how long ya hanging on to it, another 2nd hand one might only last 5 mins. Thought you were selling that anyways . On a side note i wonder if they would do a group deal on pressing, I have a couple to do
  9. All picked up, almost needed a trailer with such massive balloon tyres
  10. Just remember to take a video of the inspector doing himself an injury when he tries to open it! I found this out when my struts failed on work van
  11. Yeah I don't mind, just let me know when they are at the depot / what name etc. Got tyres too or just rimz? Offers there anyways
  12. Can do if sockburn branch. I don't even drink, so it would be a freeeeebie
  13. 'POR15' is a whole system, for best results use it for the whole job. 1, marine clean to clean it 2, metal ready to etch/etc the metal 3, paint with por15 Whereever you buy it from should be able to supply you all the info sheets as to how to use it. Its good stuff, just has to be done right otherwise don't waste your time using it. Its all I use now, have done a whole floor with it, and it looked like new 1-2 years on. (then sold it) All 3 stages of the job are about as thin as water, so coverage is huge.
  14. Probably more of a Tech question really..but anyways.. http://www.springs.co.nz/index.html - These guys specialise in that kind of thing. Pretty sure blocks are just a cheap way to lower, not the best way, just the cheapest. Some info on block lowering: http://www.eatonsprings.com/blocks.htm More info on leaf springs in general, seems to be pretty legit info. http://www.eatonsprings.com/atqMainPage.htm
  15. Good info, might have to keep an eye on for a couple of mk1 leaves then for when I go lower
  16. Cheers I'll be running standard skinny as tyres so shouldn't be an issue
  17. m0ss4yy, did you get another leaf put in or was it stiff enough with the factory springs?
  18. He might be making brmm brmmm sounds himself
  19. Check the sparkplug isn't dirty, give it a clean. Spray in some start ya bastard if ya got some lying around
  20. I wouldn't fuck with my brakes, personally. Get something else that fits, or change something else to suit. Take it to a brake specialist and see what they say. I can't imagine many professionals saying its safe to grind away strength of a caliper
  21. I didn't think you could use copper pipe?
