  1. Cheers for the info guys. Mr.Mk1, unrecognised = discontinued im guessing? As in no hope in hell of getting one? I'll txt that dude and hit him up about the TRD LSD, cheers for the hook up Looks like i'll have to get an after market head, but shit me, they aint cheap, they seem to go for around: Cusco = $2600 Kaaz = $1800 Tomei = $1690 Hope the TRD ones are a bit cheaper, but on the TRD site it says the early type LSD's have been discontinued
  2. Well, was racing at Taupo on the weekend, and broke the clutch member in the LSD (factory one) If anyone on here works for Toyota, could you please let me know if you can get one from any where, part number is: 41307-14011 Also, could you let me know the price of a TRD 1.5 and 2 way LSD head for an early AE86. And if anyone else knows of a good place to get a new LSD from, could you let me know. Cheers.
  3. Thats some fancy making of stuff, nice! If you dont mind me asking, what did the 1SZ buckets set you back? I put 2x 3/4 inch fittings in the back of my head to stop that oil problem, had 1L of oil comin out every 3 laps of taupo, not good when the motor only holds 3.5L
  4. Cheers for the info guys. I talked to a mate, whos a sparky, and he reckons just to run a second coil, with a switch on it, and tune the carb a bit rich, so when you flick on the second coil, it should light up the unburnt mix in the exhaust, and if needs be, just set it up some how that it cuts spark to the motor for a few secs, so you get plenty on unburnt mix flowing out the pipes.
  5. Anyone ever made one that works well? or used one of them kit's? Any information or idea's would be mean. Chur.
  6. Brock-Lee: Yeh man, we will be making the bottom arms longer on the back, for some camber action, dont know how much we will be able to get from that suspension set up tho? 10 - 15 deg maybe? sleeektoy: We looked at doing that, we might give it a try, and see how it works out, be a HUGE 8 inch's wide then!
  7. Well, was looking at some wheel's on trademe last night, and I decided to bid to see what the reserve was, but fucked it up, and well, I now own these: A set of 12" Volk 3 piece, 4x100 pcd, with whopping 155 80 12 tyre's, I think they are like 4 inch wide? All for the tidy sum of $100.00 (I feel so boy racery, having wheel's worth twice as much as the car)
  8. Gaz: Haha, I just found them on trademe a few mins ago, would be mean, bit out of our price range tho .... Zeb: Shit, the car in that pic's way to flash! We gonna have no muffler's, but pipe need's to come out the back, as flame kit will be super dodgey, and don't really want to set myself/punter's on fire. Mr.Mk1: Next time im down your way, I'll have the cash ready .... Yakuza-Cruiser: Are you mad man, you know how much all that tape would cost? And do you think cardboard grow's on tree's??? Dirk: I dont know if 6 foot will do, it's fairly stripped out now, I'd say that it's now so light it would prolly hit 300kmh easy, best go with 8 foot.
  9. viewtopic.php?f=18&t=16999 So, was at Dirk's (User name AE70-82) for drink's on friday night, and during the course of the evening, a mate of our's (a proud honda owner/worshiper) offered us his sister's Honda City (as it was a rusty piece of fuck) After much drunken haggling, we sealed the deal, and for the grand sum of $50.00, we acquired this: Now, me and Dirk dont much care for Honda's, but we do love Boso styling, so we quickly decided that this was to be our first attempt at Bosoing. So we got stuck in, about 90mins later it looked like this: The plan is to: Lower the shit out of it Make boso spec exhaust (with flame kit) Flare it up Shark it Get some dishy wheels, or widen/reverse the factory 12's Chin spoiler Huge boso style rear spoiler Tow ring, dildo shifter, mean paint job and so on, all with super minimal expenditure!
  10. Hard to get an idea of how steep the hill was, but heres some shit photos: The car was fully loaded with shit to! That must be what suby had in mind when the designed the suspension on that bad boy
  11. Have pipes coming out infront of front wheels I say! Oh, and i'll post up pics of you 4x4ing, I was both shocked and amazed that you made it up that track = my face
  12. Mean, cant wait to see what you do with it! but why the nissan BC's? why not just get the AE86 ones?
  13. 4age's are tuned to run kinda rich, if you drive them nice they can foul up the plugs, a few of the many 4ages ive had have done this, some times all they need is to have the plugs cleaned out or go for a decent frash.
  14. The 5K in my van was doing the same thing, sounds weird, but it was the belt slipping, front main seal was leaking a bit, would fling oil onto belt and slip, making the engine get hotter, then after a while the belt would start gripping again and temp would come back down. If you go for a bit of a frash, and rev it a bit, dose the temp rise up fairly quickly?
  15. Yeh, you should be able to get into the low 1:20's easy, Track 2 is well suited to 86's and the like, not being a high speed track, I was really surprised what I could keep up with, seeing as mine is only a N/A 1600 road car.
  16. Oh ok, Ive done a couple of "dual sprints" down there, and the best I have done is a 1:24, bit hard to drive with std seat tho, trying to hang on and drive at the same time aint easy!
  17. This car just keeps getting hotter and hotter! Just me being nosey, have you raced on track 2 at Taupo? if so, what kinda times have you done?
  18. Thats what I would have thought, your not changing the spring rate as all the forces and weights stay the same, your just more likely to bottom out. Oh well, i'll drop it down and see what happens. Cheers.
  19. I dont quite understand how it gets harder the lower you go? Can someone explain? I would have thought that the lower it was, the less tension there was on the bars, the softer it would be? Or has it got something to do with the shocks being more compressed making them harder? Im sure my surf got harder as it got higher?
  20. Sup? I have a van, with torsion bar suspension, and am looking to lower it. Something I cant decide is whether or not the suspension will get softer the lower I go? Will the spring rate change as I unwind the bars? Im not sure it will as the weight on the bars wont change, but does it take more tension to hold that same weight up higher? I jacked up a surf I had once by cranking the bars rite up, and im sure it made it way stiffer, so im assuming it will do the reverse when the bars are backed off?
  21. Needs 32 inch chrome spinners, and fluffy dice.
