  1. Will get some location shots of the car itself... boe-rad and Jase will be pleased to hear it is sitting at an almost respectable height with all my cleaning gear inside it... lil bit high in the front, measured it about 15mm difference measured from ground to sill at each end so nothing too massive... with 110kg of me sitting in the front probably almost levels out lol
  2. Wrong entry angle... back out and try again! Much betterer!! As it sits now... fixed my one WOF fail today, cheers go out to Neil @ Smash Palace in Glenfield, replaced my bent up front x member on a sunday no less for a steal of a price!! Legend!!!
  3. Nice clean bell end... Shiny new clutch/pressure plate.... Just like a bought one...
  4. More pics laterer... photobucket is going really s-l-o-w~!
  5. New carb I had built at CSL... sweeet New engine I had built at Auckland Engine Rebuilders Out with the old... grubby piece of shite right there... old, tired with water in the oil...
  6. Yeah that sounds choice! Only downside would be fitting a towbar to one of my gems... probably take a million years but meh dreams are free... (as long as Mrs doesnt make me get rid of it...)
  7. Also replaced broken speedo cable so I know how many km's I've done for running in purposes and burnt out battery lead which has been playing havoc with my electrics... dull head lites, quiet horn and gauges going spazzo as well as windscreen wipers randomly turning on. Lead was burnt on zorst at some stage... I hope this was the cause... I fucken hope so... don't want any more probs, got major work to do!
  8. Been a lot of action on this car last week or so... Red Gem Fuct out last thursday and rather than trying to get it going I thought I'd get the green wag goin... turns out that was a big mistake as I have been carless since and can't work... and have loads of work to do... bit scared aye, stressing out having so much to do with Xmas looming too... meh. Anyway thort I'd try paying someoen to fix it... rung Hometune, 1st mistake. Guy was a G.C but we thought it had carby issues (had fitted a freshly built carb...) anyhow spent near on $300 and it broke down the next day why the WOF guy was road testing it... he refused to finish the WOF after I got it running... was rough as... Got it home and checked a few things including the oil which was a creamy consistency and tan in color... uh oh! So yesterday decided to mash my fresh built engine in... had old one out by the evening and new one in before bed at 130am... back in shed 9am this morn and pretty close to cranking it over... just gotta get head around installing dizzy correctly, tim ing stuff etc, put fluids in, driveshaft and probably half a dozen other things I've forgotten... Anyone near Albany who can help gimme a txt... I have beer! 02102921539 Will jam up pics when I have time... is pretty sweet tho, new clutch kit, new engine, new carb as well as all the other bits and pieces, gana make a big difference!! Bit bummed I never had a chance to tidy up the x member 1st but meh, maybe next year!!
  9. cool... bookmarked, planning on doing this to my gemini parts wagon... bit of a twist tho, roof off so its just a trailer with BBQ, cooler and sounds built into it... mobile beach party machine!
  10. Be the same mother fuckers who rate/critique girls despite never having been with one... the only bad thing I can see about your event Mike is that you can't controil who enters... bound to be a few muppets amongst the competitors... thats ok tho, smokey will be on the look out! Otherwise it sounds mean... Mite crackbook you with 20 questions about it... eg: is the entry tax deductible blah type shit.
  11. Anyone been reamed by Weber Specialties? Why I have heard excellent revues about their depth of knowledge/expertise etc I have never heard someone say they were good value... Just picked up a carb I took in for rebuild on my way to pearl jam last friday... the thing looks brand new, all the steel components, springs, screws have been zinc coated, the alloy is all spotless looks like it may have been soda blasted... and the price was more than $100 less than Weber Specs... Place is called CSL and you will find them at the top of Carlton Gore Rd in Newmarket. My Nikki Gemini Carb cost $250+gst to rebuild. Weber Specs told a friend who took my carb in it would cost $380+gst. Another bad revue for Weber Specs, another mate took a carb in there and not only paid too much but they took a month to complete the job! CSL had my carb ready for collection in 3 days (delivered it to him end of business on a friday, was ready Wednesday morning!!) I also got a price from Weber Specs to rebuild my Weber IDF-40s, (x2) he said $500ea ... CSL were $250ea (must be a flat rate...) Anyway I'm gana be giving CSL my business, have a 2nd Nikki to get done soon and the IDFs... These are just opinions, like I say I have heard that Weber guy is epicly the man when it comes to his craft, but I know how old schoolers resent paying too much so now theres a decent 2nd option, theres always been the 2nd option and proibably others too but everyone I've asked has said go to Weber Specs... meh!
  12. you tell em gator! any space left for Team Uber Clean? Will have to get one of rides working but reckon its doable!
  13. Supercheap sells el cheapo ones... I have one but its a $600 arty type one that hasn't seen non waterbased ink in its life...
  14. x2 on that... the red rims arent so much of an issue with the hubcaps on too... look a tad strange with the bullets... really think bullets look better on a rattier ride... yours is far too pristine...
  15. The Good Blastards guy gave me a price of 800-1000 to soda blast complete exterior of my Gem wagon. You don't want to sandblast a whole car, it is quite damaging to the steel, OK for the heavy stuff can warp panels though or so I've heard... No idea about paint... just get several quotes if money isn't an object, otherwise PM Alistair off here, he has a mate who does cashy paint jobs at reasonable rates... couple of oldschoolers have been left happy after recieving his treatment on their rides...
  16. sheesh with sheepers wanting to show someone his tool and ned having something to show sheepers not sure if this is gana be something I wanna get along to... (can't anyway, maybe next time!)
  17. Hey can't hurt to ask. If they G.C's invite them along either way... several metal type bands in attendance, always good for them to meet new kents.
  18. Bands playing so far are Flitepath, Never Repent, Big Punch and maybe Twisted Metal. Couple more maybes, gana be epic. About 50 people saying they attending and another 50 maybe attending and heaps more who havn't reponded (to invites on stalkerbook)
  19. With all the gig's already happening on Halloween being that it actually falls on a Saturday we are having ours the following Saturday the 7th...
  20. My cousin has a VK with an 8 in it, he has 18" BMW Schnitzer rims on it... guessing this means any rim from that range of Beamers will work...?! He's very lol, just turned 21 only had it for a few months and is selling it due to his $300 odd P/W fuel consumption... I mean who drives an old V8 daily?! (well I know older richer chaps may well, but not low income young drunken hooligans!)
  21. http://nzgem.proboards.com/index.cgi?bo ... 714&page=1 Don't wanna chuck up an open thread for it, have a rather large Halloween party happening at mine in a few weeks... several bands playing, not easy listening so if thats your bag may not be 4 you... Dress ups a must and theres gana be an epic Punkin Carving Comp goin down... If anyones keen PM me for further detail. Really the only rule for attendance is that you are a G C... so no wankers
  22. Yeah they did my Chevini Hatch conversion... fair price I thought (someone else paid after they caused me to crash into a sign post...)
