  1. not sure sheepy. Ill give that a go tomorrow morning What are ya thinking?
  2. I have a Celica with a 3tgte. When cold it fires into life first crank. Boom, instant as shit. When shes warmed up if I turn the car off, then turn it on again straight away or within a min, she starts no problems. If I let it sit for 5min or so thats when it becomes really hard to start. Crank it over for a while and eventually it will fire up. What are the usual things that could cause this? Also if you have to keep cranking it (for 20seconds or more) it eventually starts to smoke a bit while its turning over, but as soon as it fires up the smoke goes away. Heat soak issue? Seems like its probably fuel or injector related? !!!
  3. I thought they were 4x114.3? Learn something new everyday.
  4. i like it. a lot. if you don't thats cool/ur gay.
  5. looks choice on new rimzzz. probably the coolest gunter I have seen for a while, not many left now.
  6. Is it possible to swap the XX fronts with the RA60 series? Cause im digging the pop ups much more than my ugly slant nose.
  7. did you have to take the sump off to get to the oil pump? where do they normally live?
  8. When getting a dyno tune, what type of sensor are the going to use or does it depend on the place? Sorry for noob q...
  9. ^ I like you style Anyway, will get a pro to have a look and find out for sure.
  10. fuck.. I am having a very similar issue with my 3t. was stuck in traffic with the boy racers on sat night and didn't move for around 30mins... Temp didn't get up much, but was wondering if it might be to do with the oil? Motors probably done 500kms of a rebuild and im running magnatec now (was using running in oil for the first 200kms). Am using Toyota filter. Only seems to happen if the idle drops really low... but I suppose this could be bad as I know an engine can build up oil pressure just from having it turn over. On that note, the oil pressure light should normally be off by the time the engine kick over yes? ARRRGH FUCK CARS... Sorry for highjack.
  11. oh baby ^ +1 for l20et Super sweet tourqey motors, that just puurrrrrr. Until they stop. l20e go alright? bet it still sounds super nice. Personally, I think my fav engine sounds often come from straight 6's.
  12. haha this is true. yeah its not in bad nick. Needs a few bits of rust looked at but drives well.
  13. Ha yep... Seems everyone with 3t's knows everyone else in chch...
  14. Also, have the original grill. Will put it in tomorrow and post some pics to compare with. Some people say it looks best like it is with lights forward and no grillz, I kinda like with grillz and lights back, but just playing around. And yeah, motor was fully rebuilt, chucked it in with the help of my pop. Must have the vacuum tubes hooked up wrong cause the bov is not working and the boost gauge dosn't move. Seems to spool up ok, but still taking it easy as the motors only done 250kms.... Just changed the oil again, got rid of the running in oil and put some semi-synth in it. GENUINE TOYOTA FILTER BITCHES. Also, factory foggies work, they look pimpcore.
  15. So yeah. Plans are to tidy up wheels with black stripes along the inside of the pyrimid part, fix rust on rear pillars. Need to take it a good dyno place next couple weeks to check tune once its run in. Was thinking RE Synclair? Any thoughts? Needs more slame really, but will wait until some adjustables come up for sale for it (yeah right). Just want to get it running as it should be, and tidy up the body. Going to get a new heady and speakers this week so will post some pics of those. Paint is getting on, really needs a re-paint but going to give it a decent polish once the rain fucks off. Pics: DIGITAL POWAH Factory "buckets" with manual lumbar pump haha Ideas?
  16. Your site, you make the rules etc. But if you are going to make rules, make sure they are clear Do agree with Tom that the attitude of a lot of the people on the forums has changed over the short time I have been laughing at some of the funny shit that gets posted. I liked that some of the people that posted actually had a sence of humor and didn't take every little "rule" too seriously like some forums. Thats the reason this is the only forum I actually bother to read now. Blah.
  17. Talk about it here: Jeah. Will post a list of details and some sassy photos tomorrow once its clean and daylight. Old motor melted or cracked number one, so put a rebuilt motor in. Heres the first start (in optional high def ) after getting the oil pressure up etc: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xeen52mgxEg Alex.
  18. actually agree with white yellow green madness. Would look stupid/ly awesome.
  19. bullets. first semi-boner I have had in a while for a car that old.
  20. Just going to get it running at this stage and take it to a mate who can put it on the hoist. Its not pissing out.. yet... so should make it to the garage. Just can't be bothered pulling the motor out again now its in.
  21. OK so putting rebuilt motor in celica. Dude I got it off said to replace rear main crank seal. I got the part I thougt was right from toyota, it was round and have a metal ring running around the inside. Wacked that into where the other one was (after removing the old one). Is that the main crank seal? Or is the bit that I wacked it into (the whole metal bit that connects to the back of the block) it? Sorry don't know the names of the fuckers. Basically. I used gasket sealant to connect the metal bit back to the block but there seems to be a leak when the car is up on an angle. Thinking its probably coming from there. Is there supposed to be a gasket between the metal bit and the block? Cause there wasn't one when we removed it.. just sealant.. Here is the worst mspaint ever to grace the planet to try and explain wtf im on about:
