  1. No not required, unless you are using spacers.
  2. The auto to manual part doesn't need cert if it's all factory parts and bolts in But, A modified or non original brake pedal does, so if it's had a manual brake pedal fitted or the pedal pad cut down , yes it should have a cert
  3. You haven't had much luck with dicks crashing into you lately! May I suggest
  4. yes would need plating I think 1.6 is probably a bit light
  5. each one would require approval individually unless you did a component approval, but for that to be economical, you would probably have to sell a few
  6. yep anything adjustable that wasn't originally, needs cert. have not seen anyone cut down the cones, only seen people use adjustable ones. if the cone is solid, and you keep the "spring" captive, probably no reason you couldn't shorten it
  7. yeah theres no minimum clearance as long as it cant touch under any circumstances, or jam the steering if an engine mount breaks
  8. looks pretty good, have not seen one in person but it appears pretty solid Who makes it?
  9. Rats I'd be keen as for grass skids but got a mates birthday already locked in on that day
  10. Myself and Bartholomew will be there in the afternoon I have a van for sleeps not sure what barts plans are, but i imagine hes not being the little spoon
  11. Also if the steering arm is bolt on, you could potentially make a new arm once you figure out where it needs to go?
  12. The rules of thumb we use are 10mm max total for a newer car 20mm if its old Or no worse than original. We haven't been given a definition of what is old vs new it's a bit open to interpretation Where the toe change occurs is just as important as how much there is. An early mustang or falcon has a lot of bumpsteer (usually over 20mm) but it occurs when the suspension is at near full droop so doesn't show up when you drive it If you had 10mm toe change, but that was all in, for example, 20mm either way from ride height then it would probably be noticeable when you drive it
  13. My bung fizz levels, are mentos in coke spec about now Only 3 work days left! Test ride fully loaded done.
  14. Ended up at position 11 on the chart, tried 10 but that had a part throttle hesitation. 11 is a smaller (.083 instead of .086) jet and the standard rods. Put the wide band on today and went for a drive, seems pretty good, runs well, cruise afr is mid to high 15 now. Also put a bigger needle and seat in while the carb was apart, I suspect it has a fuel flow issue which only ever happens at the drags so I'll see if that helps
  15. So that got me confused cause I didn't know what the heck that means. Thought about putting a holley on it cause I know how they work but then found the manual and figured out how the chart works it's actually quite simple once you have the list that is on the next page which wasn't on the internet Edelbrock carbs have a primary system which has a jet, with a rod that goes in and out, controlled by vacuum . So you pick a combo of jets and needles based on where in the chart you want to be.
  16. Tuning time I went to Tauranga in it a few weeks ago and I figured out the fuel consumption at 15.6l/100km. Which is a bit dumb. It hasn't bothered me in the past but since gas is getting spendy I think there's no point wasting it. I've suspected it was a bit on the rich side as its never needed a choke and it runs good when it's cold. I put a wide band on it and it was a bit all over the place but averaged 13.5-14 afr when sitting at 100kph. Did some googling on tuning edelbrock carbs and found this
  17. I've got a 12v compressor I can put in the support ute for communal use
  18. he doesn't have any rx2 stuff, he said its getting hard to find here due to people in the same situation as you wanting to convert to rhd he suggested might be easier to find what you need in Australia from a 616
  19. Nah I've been distracted by dumb scooters and a van lately Need to get moving on it again
  20. I've got a job booked tomorrow for a mate who's into mazdas, I'll ask him if he's got any bits
  21. Vg has same size vented disc if you want to keep small pattern wheels. Depends on what design of wheel as to whether the us spec wheel fits over the vg brakes though. When talking about aussie spec valiants, the earlier wheels (up to vf) don't fit vg's What diff has it got? Got any plans for more power later?
  22. Well that's dumb. Is the piston ok? Fix valve and try again? At least it looks like your gasket goo made the head gasket stick good
