  1. Yeah that should be fine if they are made properly of a suitable material
  2. yep- if you hear one with equal length headers on they sound like a normal 4cyl
  3. Good idea to use them Stops the mount flexing too far
  4. Shouldn't matter for lvv cert - it's not usually a requirement for a lvv certifier to sight the repair cert On rare occasions the certifier might want to see it- the only time I remember asking someone for a copy of a repair cert was an old car with a lot of repairs, where the owner had a repair cert done, then did mods and it turned into a scratch built vehicle, when that happens it is considered a new vehicle and the lvv certifier takes responsibility for the whole vehicle including the body structure So in that case it was me covering my ass as well as I could because I hadn't seen the body before paint
  5. do you mean it needs a repair cert and you want to know how to repair it to that standard? or it has had one done and you need a copy of the repair cert? I don't know how you would get a copy of it, you might be able to get the repair certifier to make copies for you? its not usually something that the customer gets a copy of, the cert paperwork gets given to the vtnz/vtnz inspector
  6. yep a half cage is certifiable cage requirements from an interior impact point of view, is here https://www.lvvta.org.nz/documents/standards/LVVTA_STD_Interior_Impact.pdf head restraints https://www.lvvta.org.nz/documents/standards/LVVTA_STD_Head_Restraints.pdf
  7. cant see a problem with those, looks like a much better idea than the factory ones @Nominal they are escort top strut hats, the factory ones don't have a bearing to let the shock turn freely
  8. I dropped the wheels off at the bike shop, it wasnt very expensive for them to fit Fronts are 3.5", rears are 4.5", both 17" The biggest pain changing the wheels was those little plastic crash knob things... I said many swear words at those
  9. Yeah the windyness is good for the license I think, it was pretty comfortable getting along at 90-100 Stock carb, might have had a re jet cause it's already had the common airbox mod and an exhaust Put some new tyres on it today, front is stock 120/70/17, rear was a 140/70/17 but I got a 150/60/17, bridgestone S21. Won't be doing any skids on these, bike tyres are a bit more of a muck around to change than car ones. And not cheap.
  10. strangely, I have a question for this thread if person 'a' puts rego on hold for the minimum of 3 months then sells vehicle to person 'b' after 1 month person 'b' then puts rego on the vehicle, rego then starts from the date of change of ownership, this is on the nzta website does person 'a' get a bill for rego because it was on hold for less than the 3 month minimum? the reason I ask, is I bought a bike with reg on hold, I put 3 months rego on it, but the date of expiry was 3 months from when the reg on hold ran out, not 3 months from the date I put it in my name. so I got nearly an extra month free.
  11. you would need to re cert again later with the different seats anyway.
  12. probably easier and quicker to fit a loop, than fluff around proving you have fitted a 318 shaft that was out of a factory 318 car then pay someone for a dyno run
  13. correct https://www.lvvta.org.nz/documents/suplementary_information/LVVTA_LVV_Cert_Threshold.pdf
  14. there is a track width requirement Wheel track 2.2(7) A low volume vehicle that has four wheels and tyres, must have a front wheel track, measured from centre to centre of the tyre treads, that is within 20% of the rear wheel track.
  15. if its a m3 engine and m3 box and matching m3 driveshaft and its not modified and you can prove it, correct.
  16. you will need to fit a separate set of anchorages for the center belt. it gets tricky with the other belt mounts because they were done so long ago, they probably pre date the cert requirement, but proving that will be near impossible if theres no declaration, so it will be better to re do all the anchorages as per the standard, and cert it https://www.lvvta.org.nz/documents/standards/LVVTA_STD_Seatbelts_& Seatbelt_Anchorages.pdf
  17. Not too bad, did 80 k on it today and my bum is fine thanks
  18. Not really a project cause it's already got the mods I was going to do to a stock one.... just needs tyres Good fun though. Makes good doort/brraaap noises
  19. also registering interest in two wheel based shenanigans
  20. Yep do able if it's all done correctly
