LS 2 THE DEEE

Have slowly been piecing it back together was a bit rushed on the paint job as I had to move my car out of the shed it was in so theres a few patches of average prep that clearcoat loves to show up but i will deal with them at engine upgrade time whenever that is. The left mirror is pretty bung so im trying to figure out a way to tidy that up an mount it I also need the chrome trim for the bonnet, still unsure of what colour to do wheel centres but im leaning towards silver

Basically sold this I kept the wheels and brought the earlier gx51 version for 1100. The good Manual IRS Tidy interior cruise control and original stereo The bad Cancer in boot, rear arches and a few sprinklings around the place 1GEU Paints kaka Reg is on hold while i get things up to scratch So far i've done the following: got boat anchor going it had some injector poos installed bc gold adjustables (cheers mr fels for assisting) Got most of cancer removed beat the fuck out of rear arches to 9's with there stupid -27 offset would fit Painted it! Still to do New carpet, parcel tray etc get decent speakers running through factory stereo continue saving for jz upgrade pictures ( i forgot to take any before i started stripping it for paint) so yeah thats about it At the moment i have gold centers on the front wheels and silver on the rear and im not sure which colour to go with. Let me know what you think as Im gonna paint them when I decide.

wasnt too bad last year until guys in rotas turned up and seemed to need 10,000 revs to reverse into a parking spot

Can anyone in this thread recommend someone/panelbeater on the north shore to chop out some rust and weld nice fresh metal in its place? wont need any finishing just patch it, give it a grind and maybe a splash of etch primer

Definately sounds like amount of coats differ between the new and old paintwork or the colour isnt spot on. Sometimes even with the right code paint can be mixed up and due to error from the person mixing it or if they havent stirred there tinters properly it can come out different. good painters will tint around a mix that doesnt match and if they cant get it spot on they will at least blend it in to the next panel. if your painter cant suss it i may be able to help, I distributed spies hecker for 3 years and their spectrometer (basically a camera that takes picture of your paint, matches it to a formula in the colour program and then tweaks it to match the sample.....it never let me down even on 3 layer colours. chur

yeah have spark, i took air intake off and sprayed some 'start ya bastard' down it and the engine will run off that and then cut out when i stop spraying

Basically picked up car on trailer, got it home and fired it up it went first pop and then ran out of gas about 20 seconds later. I chucked gas in and turned it over but no go From what i can tell its not getting any fuel through the injectors, theres fuel getting to the rail but considering im not so mechanically sound im not sure what the problem is. If anyone has any idea on a solution I would appreciate it Cheeers

I dont mind the painting it gives me a chance to tidy up a few patches and I think I'll wet and dry back the top half and re clear that with the bottom. I didnt buy that cresta in chch I was gutted to see that on there after hunting about for so long. The cost of getting it up here turned me off but would of loved to got hold of it. I'll just have to wait for the container so who knows when. I'll be keen for those plastic body mould strips and those chrome sill trims....can gab them this saturday morning if that works for you?

Bit of an update I got the wheels and added tyres, the fronts fit nicely but the rears stuck out a bit and the arch was sitting on the tread. I pondered best way to tackle this then decided to hand it over to a panelbeating mate.....told him what I wanted, gave him a couple bottles of scotch and let him be.....picked it up on the weekend and Im well pleased with his efforts. Im thinking of going two tone and keeping this colour for the top half and going champaign or dirty silver colour from door handles down including the bumpers and then painting wheel centres same as top half......your thoughts on this would be good. I have a back window for it which will get here when ever ewan decides to send another container so not sure. So the to do list is as follows New idler arm to get rid of the hint of floatiness Paint Motor (decided on 2jzge...cant really afford to go 1jzgte) Depending on how much the motor brings the front down I may shorten the fron shocks a bit new interior carpets drive it more

best place to get a replacement idler arm?

couply quick questions I have just had 1st drive with new wheels on and theres a little bit of play in the steering wheel which makes it feel a little bit floaty at times.....whats the story their? Also in terms of mounts would the 2jzge go on same mounts as the 2jzgte?
