  1. Hey sheepers! I'm having same issues with clutch pedal using the original master off the w55 with my r154. What master were you going to convert to?
  2. To be honest im not sure Ive always cleared over basecoat let the clear bring the shiny to the party.......never have I cleared pre existing shiny. I personally think it will be A...Ok just use good product
  3. You can get clear etch primer these days and then clear coat could be an option
  4. Will attempt drifting it... It's going to keto for some love in the steering department at some stage so this weekend is going to be a before an after experiment haha. Next time if you're out when I take it out your welcome to have a blat!
  5. Anyone going out to Hampton on Sunday...all going to plan might have the cresta out there for other people's amusement at my shit driving lol
  6. Been awhile but things have been done since last update. Got driveshaft sorted, went to drive in and what a good crowd to deal with. For the same price as ADL they pretty much remade the drive shaft using v8 universals and the front half of a jzx90 shaft. It's stronger and probably for the first time since I owned it balanced haha. I also put smaller Intercooler in and put headlights/ front end together. Got wiring done....went for a drive...didn't latch bonnet and it flew up bending the corners, I'm lucky the hinges are so beasty..Got off pretty lightly. Got mail order wof and drove around abit. So happy with performance of the factory 1j compared to what it was...next is some track fun then once my shed is built will tidy everything up over winter including rust and possibly a color change come next summer. Pretty poo update but will include better photos and videos next time
  7. I started it with a loose budget on what I thought things would cost and exceeded that long ago. I would say after everything is sorted including website, glassware, advertising etc probably be about 20k maybe..that includes cost of the caravan And in regards to license because we only serve the alcohol the person hiring the caravan provides we don't need one. We will be getting liquor manager license etc so we can eventually sell it and make more money to spend on my car haha
  8. Wheels look banging! Where did you acquire new clutch master cylinder I need one for the 51
  9. Yeah when clutch is at normal position ie not depressed it can move forward. Once warmed up or after taken for a quick spin you can hear it still engaging as you release pedal in neutral but won't move it. I'm just wondering if the slave isn't throwing out enough. Seedy al I got clutch an flywheel altogether out of a running car and was mint in said car
  10. I'm also a noob and was surprised when it started taking off when I started it over the pit haha
  11. Not sure was on the on the car when I got it. I have a replacement slave I got with the clutch. Where would I acquire a decent master from?
  12. So basically the problem is when the car is in neutral and clutch is out it is engaging and can move forward, on axle stands will spin the wheels quite quick. Once warmed up will ease off a lot but is slipping in 2nd a bit, a lot in 3rd and so on. It has og although looks newish gx master cylinder and r154 slave. It bled up real easy but when I went to redo it a bit of shit came out at slave end and was a bitch to bleed and had nothing at the pedal. Leave it 5 mins and the pedal is back to normal. Just looking for expert opinion for a solution...I know fuck all Cheers
  13. Anyone able to carry out the deed of locking a diff for me or recommend someone that can? Cheers Levi 0212993115
  14. This is The Little Caravan called Daphne! It came about as we planned for our wedding and had a similar one booked but changed the date then the caravan couldn't make the new date. We then decided we liked the idea so much to build our own. Essentially the caravan is made to serve drinks at any special occasion or event. The person hiring it supplies the alcohol and we keep it cool and flowing to the guests. So we found a caravan brought it home and stripped it out. It had leaks and rotten framing to be expected from a 60's (we think) caravan. The building side was abit beyond my skill level and tools available so I searched and found a guy perfect for the job. He replaced all the rotten framing and lined it all with ply to strengthen what was quite a wobbly old girl Next was make an install cabinets for bench top to sit on Next was install bench top and the big one was custom make the Windows which took the builder many hours but using rimu did an amazing job and came better than we could of imagined. We used perpsex to keep the weight down. Next was my turn to tackle the outside and respray. Every trim had to be removed and resealed and countless hours went into getting it painted. Also our wedding date was approaching quick so pressure was on. So now all painted it was time to tidy up the inside, install sinks, finish Lighting and seal up joinery and benchtop. Me and my brother were still working on it at 11 the morning of the wedding....last minute but we made it...just! Now open for business! We have Facebook page active and the website is getting done as we speak. Enjoy
  15. How much were lips delivered if you don't mind me asking?
  16. After I've had my time with the cresta a soarer is on the list....know of any Kurt? Haha
  17. Love that vid....some good inspiration....looks like a bit of a handfull......GX51 drift whale coming up!
  18. Yeah I thought that was steep the yoke is a cut off old and weld new one in its place, then 2 universals and balance. I havent had driveshaft work done before so have nothing to compare it to
  19. Yeah starting to free up some funds to get things done but an upcoming wedding is endangering progress......I've worked the angle that I absolutely NEED to drive this to the wedding to make my day complete haha
  20. Discuss......enlighten me on driveshaft reconmendations!
  21. Well consistency seems to be the key on this project as progress is slow going A few things have been crossed of the list and a few snags encountered I ended up selling the ssr mesh wheels to help fund more vital components like clutch, ecu, fuel pump, bigger injectors, intercooler piping etc. And I wanted to go down a size to 14's and couldnt help myself and ended up buying some more wheels as well Gearbox and clutch went in no worries apart from me leaving the crossmember at home so a temporary one was issued I pulled the inside headlights out to fit intercooler piping and will make up some covers, at this stage its getting prepped for some track amateur drift action but I have smaller hideable intercooler for when I go legit. One of the issues I encountered was/is the driveshaft. The yoke is different so I got correct yoke and the universals are pretty old and flogged so took it to get yoke swapped and new unis and was quoted $630 by ADL. Was more than I had at the time so Im sitting on that and hoping for recomendations from people in the know for a good crowd to deal with in auckland that might be a bit sharper on price. So I still have a few vacuum and water lines to figure out, power steering lines, exhaust and wiring......oh and driveshaft
  22. Looks and sounds awesome man. ..you've done a great job with this car
