  1. Ive got 15/38 and run out of puff at 55kph, hardly ever have to use 1st and 2nd so will maybe try a 16 front
  2. What sprokets are you running front and back?
  3. DB8-TypeR

    .

Steel front guard looks heaps better, but does the new front end have the mounts for it?
  4. We had a car for a few days, did universal studios, disneyland, long beach etc. Then dropped it back and stayed at Venice Beach for a few more days(Cadillac Hotel was good, right on the beach and not too expensive), can get hop on hop off tourist bus things from Santa Monica pier into hollywood/beverly hills, hire bike/walk the boardwalk.
  5. Failing that all parts both original and aftermarket are available online for decent prices
  6. Check the filter in the bottom of the fuel tap. Or just pull fuel line off the carb and make sure fuel is getting that far
  7. Disc front end is for my Dax, its old ones look pretty bent themselves it was used as a paddock basher before I got it
  8. Chaly has been sharing daily duties with the DJ1 lately, so far so good
  9. Ours was the same with thrifty, only from lax though. All other places we got what we were given Oops, yea rentalcars.com haha. Try turo for exotic etc, its like airbnb where you rent sombodys car rather than a rental company. I think you need to be over 30 to get anything worth over $55k
  10. Is it possible to remove front legs from the triple trees. Cut some of the length off the top, drill/tap so it can be bolted back together and achieve lower height? Failing that you can buy shorter front ends
  11. We just used rentalscars.com, was easy to change bookings and prices were good
  12. My favourite bit of our trip was the drive from Vegas, through Death Valley, up the eastern side of the seirra-nevada mountains, stayed the night in Bishop, then through into Yosemite, 2 days in there then onwards to San Fran. Also did Pacific Coast Hiway from San Fran to L.A., first bit was sweet, Santa Cruz is a awesome spot and all the agriculture around that part was cool to see. The actual coast bit was fairly underwhelming. I guess because we have such awesome coastline in NZ /probably already said this, cbf going back and checking
  13. Looks sweet but already drag the centre stand at stock height you rebuilding the af05 or fitting a newer engine?
  14. So chaly is nearing "completion", just need to make the indicators work. Have some bits on the way for the Dax, have yet to decide what Im going to do engine wise This is the major bit on the way
  15. Capacitors are a waste of money, 1 decent battery, good supply cable, good earth. Thats all that is needed. Its only 2 subs, hardly a high powered system
  16. Why do you need an additional battery? Running a couple subs certainly wont require one, its just added complication
  17. Saw an old couple doubling down the mount on a gyro x last week. Lol'd Love how rowdy the green one is
  18. Are wide rear wheels still in the cards for this?
  19. ^ 3.50-10 is the factory size, same as what my Dax has. I have the Tanaka 3.5" wide rims on the Chaly which is causing the front guard issue.
  20. Tentative, still waiting to see if someone can cover my night shift.
  21. New stuff! Webike order with headlight/speedo combo for the dax (ali light housing not plastic like the Chaly one and a 140kph speedo.....), also some 110/80-10 Bridgestone Molas ML50 tyres for the 3.5" rims going on the Chaly Tyres looked quite skinny compared with the rims, its seated on one side of the rim. (Yes im assembling them on the dining room table, wife is out) Compared with the 3.00 -10 pirelli tyres it came on Looks sweet though, had to remove front guard is tyre is too wide. Also will need to trim the chain guard as that sits solidly on the tyre. If I went to a 4" wide rim Id have to shave the bracket that holds the rear drum in place and make a new bracket Now I just need to get it running reliably (thinking the coil may be a bit sad), get a new front guard that mounts differently for clearance and wire up the lights. May also lower it, it sits about right with me on it, just looks high when on the stand
