  1. That's pretty weird though, oil pooling in the intake perhaps?
  2. Option A: rings are chooched and pumping plenty of blowby into the intake under deceleration Option B: (if it's one of the versions with a throttle plate, which I'm guessing it isn't) rings are chooched and pulling in oil directly under deccel. Option C: Add a turbo to make use of the extra fuel
  3. Yep it looks like it's just something to stick the logo to
  4. Speaking of, would these be uncertable because of the extra brace welded in, even though the spindle is still attached to the factory strut?
  5. Do they might together the pre welded ones? Or are they welded to cast?
  6. Man this looks like the making of some hilarious video footage
  7. They are the position triggers, they connect back to a control box that then triggers the other solenoids if you manually actuate the master solenoid
  8. The ecu has an injector test mode so you can find the dead time without too much hassle anyway
  9. Nah that's 4 squirt /cycle, the squirts are total, not per bank.
  10. 4 shots per cycle make much more sense to me since with only two shots, one injector per batch will be firing say on valve opening event, while the other will fire with the valve closed 360° out. With 4 shots you'll be firing half and half, meaning each cylinder will see the exact same fuel conditions. Just make sure you adjust your req_fuek to suit or you will be running twice as much juice and mess everything up.
  11. They'll often have a flood clear mode where you crank with your foot to the floor. Even if they don't have that they'll usually clear themselves pretty quick, just be quick to release the pedal
  12. Yah you definitely don't need the weight of a Hilux G series in the arse. F diff will do you fine and tezza torsens can be had for under $300
  13. Do it anyway though coz outboard injection is badass
  14. Never added it up but I think total gas was over $500, but that is of course including the ham-welly trip. Best economy I've seen is 10L/100km but I'm sure that's simply because I drive like a Muppet, I reckon a tunable ECU will allow some decent improvement
  15. Setups like that often run two sets of injectors, or they simply don't give a shit about low rpm drivability so still not suited for a road car
  16. Can you clearance the head? Or will that mess with airflow
  17. Coils without a ion / primary pin piss me off. So much info can be gathered from the spark ionization, can see if the cylinder is rich or lean or leaking valve and all sorts. VW coils are the worst as they are also shielded, so can't even pick up the spark via induction.
