Yo. I have just assembled a 3L, combined with a CT20 turbo, yadayadayada. Anyway, finally got the thing running but it does not run correctly. It has some unusual misfire going on and refuses to rev properly. The more gas you give it, the worse it is. We played around with the injector timing but it made no real difference. It also coughs white smoke on the misfires. Any ideas on what is goin on? Yeah? Nah? Kinda want it drivable to wagnats, but that is looking kind of unlikely.... Chur

I know they swap between the 5MGE and 7MGE easily enough, however I think the single cam head is a slightly different flange pattern and needs some minor mods to fit. I have a MTEU manifold modified to fit a GE head which I will nab a photo of later, so you'd have to do the reverse of the mods to fit it. Yah.

My brothers car does the exact same thing, pretty bloody sure it's the coil. Have yet to actually fix it though.

If it'll tow start fine but not on cranking, you might have low coil voltage. Check the volts at the coil with a multimeter and see what's up. Does it use a ballast resistor?

My brothers car also got some massive run on with his 1600. It was a lot better on 95/98, but still there. Whipped the old carb off and slapped some freshly rebuilt twin CDs on it and it don't run on any more. Therefore the solution to your problem is add more carbs.

Get those intake swirly thingies. They will apparently add 30% more power as well has halving your fuel bill. I think you can also get some magic rocks that you drop in the fuel tank that has similar results.
