  1. that wasn't you guys skidding it up around the 'hood last night? could fully hear some sort of V8 doing wheelies at some point during the evening
  2. Roadtrippin down to tairua to look at a HR31 coupe and probably pulling more shit off the parts car tomorrow... but sunday/monday I'm keen for whatever. I'm just round the corner so might just rock over anyway if bored. Still need to get Mike to see if he can weld up that MR2 exhaust rear section also
  3. Build Thread //oldschool.co.nz/index.php?/topic/22401-ae8sixs-1986-toyota-levin-gt-apex/?p=573201 that's one of the straightest kouki AE86s I've seen in NZ, kudos Are you planning to respray it in the factory colour scheme or something else entirely? either way it's good to know you aren't munting the car out - looks like it'll be worth every penny you spend on it.
  4. Oi! Nick don't steal my thunder nah jk. Your HR's gonna be super mint when it's done, can't wait to see it rolling again. Hopefully soon, I need to find a free half hour to take them down to a tyre shop and get all the rubber swapped around... work is pretty hektik at the moment :< Plan to get the Ewings minted up too, seen as I ain't selling them anymore.
  5. So is this still going ahead have to rock into work for an hour or two, since it's just around the corner from the domain I figured I could just take the squareline...

    Track rubber

IMO, who cares how ugly track wheels look, it's the functionality that counts (fuck, beaten by cam). 15" seems to be a good all-round diameter for small to medium sized cars, chuck on some mean sticky tyres and you're away laughing. e.g. I scored a set of ok-condition lightweight ITR rims (like the ones on Ronny) for next to nothing.
  7. pulling engine, gearbox, loom and ECU out of my Familia cabriolet parts car, then getting the rolling body ready for sale.
  8. oh man I'm in the tron this coming weekend so will have to take a rain check sorry. But I'll fully pop over sometime in teh near future. Will still suss you out some mean networking stz as well
  9. I thought long and hard about getting a set of Hoshino IMPUL rims... but decided not to in the end, because they were too expensive. so ugly they're beautiful.
  10. Haha I have one of those old Laser Sport rear spoilers downstairs. also, fender mirrors are yuck! Can I have your wing mirrors then?
  11. I'll roll up for a bit... hopefully I remember that it's on. DR30 coupe is drivable now, so why the hell not as for OTP's in Aucks, once Glancn and the boes are settled in, "the slipway pad should be invaded exactly"
  12. Ugh solid rear, forgot it used to be an 1800Ti. DO NOT WANT etc smoked lights =
  13. Glad the grille made it dude. the monkeys downstairs @ dispatch need a bullet for not sending it for like 3 weeks just needs the facelift (smoked) tail lights, then it'll be bangin' fo sho As for lowering, I have found the perfect combo for IRS R30s which gives a super mint ride, but it involves buying springs direct from Japan and shortening your existing shocks/getting new shortened ones. Therefore = not cheap
  14. The only things missing from that pimp daddy mobile are those buttoned seats, like they have on luxury Nissans of similar vintage
  15. YEAH! EB1s are chur as Testament's mum used to have one in similar condition (red too), it was nicknamed the 'gonda' after an unfortunate spelling mistake on IRC chat one night. Had the old Hondamatic 2 speed - L and * etc New engine = 1200 CVCC turbo from a City? Or the 'twin crab' 1200 from the SB1 RS? Or something slightly more modern like a ZC? hmm all curious now
  16. ^^ "hay guys, I got this crashed Corvette in my garage, and oh look a Honda Civic out front, the wheelbase is almost the same, LET US COMBINE THE TWO" Northstar quad cam V8 into an AW11: http://www.v8mr2.com - an ongoing saga since 2003
  17. ^^desprung and debumpered aha, nice! Boso starlet is a bit hard to imagine though... I still think it would be trippy/mindfuck as to have a collection of late 70s/early 80s Jap classics in a shed, and then at the end of the row have a minter stock import KP61 (like Richie's) sitting there all unmolested, full-bling and shit. Or something equally small and kvlt like a SB1 Civic RS, but I have a soft spot for Starlets too.
  18. Fully. R30 nats anyone? (once Nick finishes his car) 028 next time I'm in the tron with one of the wedges I'll try and get in touch for an impromptu photo mission hopefulyl before that other dude NFORSA sells his...
  19. Needs more power, a rollcage, and better brakes. Oh god, does it need better brakes
  20. And heres the coupe at its new height, raised 30mm but you probably wouldn't pick it at all... looks just about perfect now. Ride quality and drivability is much improved, however still on the firm side and still a bit twitchy on crappy road surfaces (though manageable). Took it for a couple of victory laps around Taupo track and it handled fine - just that the steering box really hampers responsiveness; feels sloppy and vague compared to all the rack-and-pinion cars I've ever owned, but there's nothing much I can do about that Adjustable dampers no longer work as the OE shocks were removed and new shortened Tokicos fitted all round... small price to pay though. Definitely gonna be decking the sedan out with the same gear, which should also take care of that buggered front shock at the same time. Awesome Anyone got hookups on decent quality 205/60R15 rubber? Got dicked around on tyres so it's still rolling on the stock DR rims as you can see.
  21. SSRs are back from Arrow Wheels with the lips all repaired, so next week is crunch time for the coupe... they'll get fitted, along with my new Japanese highering springs, wheel alignment will be done, steering box will get fixed to remove all the slop, then hopefully I should be all G for a warrant and the car will be fully road legal again. this is the last time anyone sees the car at its present ride height but the springs that are in it now will HOPEFULLY continue to live on, in StageFumer's HR30 coupe
  22. bugger that relay decided to pop on Sunday eh (or whatever caused the entire ignition system to shit itself) you know you want to buy that 8V 'grale in Aucks and do the dodgy... Not underestimating the amount of rust either, I had a look and it's nothing compared to some Italian cars I've seen!
  23. Yer man, had a chat to my mate the other day. There are restrictions on certain parts - things like bodykits, bumpers and any single item bigger than 20kg or 2mx2mx2m can't be shipped to NZ, but flick me a PM of what you need (and links to auctions if you have them) and I'll see what I can do. as I explained there may be additional charges once the items get here, nothing much we can do about Customs unfortunately. Should really sit down and work out a decent depositing system that won't make people feel like they're being stung or forced to pay extra/hidden costs
  24. oh hey boes, finally an update on the wedges... Got a chance to finish work a tad early today - I've been itching to give the SSRs a good inspection and clean, so dropped by the local Repco on the way home to pick up some wheel cleaning stz. arrived home with just over an hour of daylight to spare, got straight into it. Final step is to drop them off at Arrow tomorrow, get all the gari scars and random bends repaired/tidied up, then throw on a set of 205/60s and it'll be time to bolt them onto the coupe and fit my new mackdaddy springs. Pwn also it was a good opportunity to test out the camera I bought for taking photos of random stuff and documenting projects etc. Way less hassle to lug it around and take photos on the fly, compared to my high-end digital SLR. filth! Rear - 15x6.5" Front - 15x6" dish on rears dish on fronts minter, gotta <3 staggered sets
  25. I brought Testament along to the trackday OTP... but most of you cunts would have been... well... too OTP to remember meeting him
