sheepers MS51 of hyperbolic enlightenment and anomalies
sheepers replied to QCADTA's topic in Project Discussion
you had better come over here and see it or the afore mentioned slap to your afore mentioned bitch face will be forthcoming!!!! there is and always will be cups of tea at my house to accompany anything to do with crowns. -
progress. gearbox is installed and tested OK so far. I've also installed a huge relay for the lights and they now shine very brightly indeed (i modified the back of the housing to take a halogen bulb). the indicators work thanks to Nick the sparkey, umm, what else. I've taken the front apart to clean up the engine bay, it was a fucking mess to put it mildly so the inner guards and rad support panel are off to be powder coated, along with a few odd brackets and whatnot. ill also do the rocker cover, air cleaner and zorst manny to try to make it look presentable. there is some rust in the bottom corner of the sills where the firewall/sills meat so ill attack that too. sheepers.

sounds like you've already made your mind up Mikey, so i reckon get on with it! many pics of the build are mandatory!

the master cylinder is a 1" JZA70 supra one. and yes im going to do something with the rear brakes at some point. ill be looking into it very sortly.

still plugging away with the supercharger manifold but i have made some progress in that i have a good chance of getting enough machine time at work to actually make it. but in other news, the front brakes were being a pain in the arse. the R32 GTR rotors would warp with no hesitation and i am completely fed up with them and trying to get them to stop warping after a decent heat cycle. apparently its a common problem with the R32 GTR stuff, some are worse than others and it seems to be a bit of a lottery with the rotors. so, brake upgrade time. on the right is an R32 GTR rotor, on the left is the new rotor, 330 x 30 with the biggest annulus area i can get. why the necessity for such a deep disk? because the brembo calipers I'm using take a very deep 55mm wide pad. the calipers are out of an E38 7 series bmw (apparently) and have ceramic pistons. the whole lot weighs the same as the old setup but has a 25% increase in swept area. i have to make brackets to mount the caliper but thats no biggie. should be finished by this time next week. sheepers. oh, i won this at the 4 & rotor nats.

yea, i forgot to mention please put up heaps of pics. MS75's are the shit!!!! -
hey man. i was wondering how good that crown was, i wanted to have a look at it when i was in Christchurch but it never happened. there are bits and pieces of information around about the MS75/65 but your started in the right place, there are a few 60 series crown lunatics on this forum. there was a guy selling brand new carbs on e bay US a while back but I've not seen any for a while. i got one rebuilt a ages ago and it made a massive improvement to the car. the fuel pump is that same as the 5M-U, umm, there are a few 3 port mechanical pumps that fit but i can't remember exactly what. you probably best to go to an electric one really. umm, yea, I'm sure you'll get he hang of it as you go but if your stuck drop me a line and ill see if i can help. sheepers.

yes bridge is closed. in fact, all bridges are closed, so you will have to ford all streams and cross all railway tracks to get there. -
with the amount of shit i have up in my shed roof the fucker should have collapsed years ago. I'm going to lift engines out using the trusses, be sweet.
-
TBH, when its fucking cold you have to really push yourself to go outside to the shed, but once you've started working you forget about the cold. or alternately, install some of those halogen spotlights, fuck those things make stupid amounts of heat.

you could take your starter to an auto sparky and get a new copper electrode put in it? might be cheaper/easier than getting a whole new one.
