damn straight BNT will get it done by a machiniest. they use the grind as an incentive to sell kits! prob also so they can get the flywheel to make sure they supply the right one

TRD? genuine? youd be suprised how cheap some genuines are.... whats the application?
  9. ok, as far as the 3100 goes they were all overbored essex engines, still single cam. the rules stated the base production car had to have an engine over a certain cc rating to allow it to run in the larger capicity class. so they over bored them to take them to 3100cc. and yeah not all blocks survived the boring! i believe the number made was 200 the modifications under the class rules then allowed them to use extra cams and CCs. they later used that enigne in f5000 getting like 500hp
  10. haha maybe we're talking about different things.... im sure the scorpio had a 24v quad cam cologne based V6 i wasnt aware of any production quad cam essex version
  11. granada? do you mean colonge? the essex is often mistakenly called a grenada, one of those 24v colonges from a scorpio would be cool. didnt think they put a 24v in a granada? i havnt personally seen them, but i have no reason to doubt they arnt what i was told they were. ill find out more
  12. if your mate wont strip i will thats not an offer.... its a threat
  13. there was a collection of parts/engines in twizel of all places. they were sold to a guy in hamilton. cant say exactly how many, but i think its more than two. but i could be wrong. its not the guy who owns paul faheys (iirc) old race car either. hehe shouldnt be too hard to work out who it is
  14. i know of some one with a couple of those engines id also suggest trying the UK capri club. im sure some one will have one for a decent price

    fuel

different brands have different additives, while a bp and a shell tanker may both fill up from a marsden point tank, each company has its own additives. which is why you can feel the difference between brands a lot of octane boosters do fuck all, note advertised 6 points on the bottle means 0.6 note 6. so 91 goes to 91.6.... interesting obseravtion made recently on a caldina turbo, octane booster increased EGT by 50 degrees. i cant tell any differnece between BP or mobil 98. iv noticed a massive difference between shell 95 and mobil 95, mobil being waaaay better (ae101 levin) when i had my XA falcon i had major starting issues in the winter with shell 96. on a late model hipo car running 98 often proves cheaper than running 95 or 91
  16. just stick a quad cam from a "cologne" capri in it have you asked any one in the capri club? i wish i still had my mk1
  17. sc12 = 1.2 litres of displacement pre rev of the charger. sc14 = 1.4 litres. the s/c estimas are petrol 2tz-fze. the charger is the same as the 1g-gze ones, except for some brackets etc on the out side of the housing
  18. problem with sc12s is they are getting hard to find $350 is a more realistic price now. but yeah if your after shits and giggles for a few months itll work.
  19. the seals dont like petrol.
  20. that explains why they sucked so much then
  21. sc12 doesnt like suck through. maybe srounge round pick a part ofr a carb off a montego turbo or cordia? to go blow through, if they are blow through.. i havnt looked.
  22. viscous have the fluid inside the LSD unit, seperate from the gearbox oil im not familier with other brands but with toyota ones you cannot service them, ie you cant change the diff oil
  23. theres a key word in there that id pay close attention too. dont bother with starting with a 4agze, for the same cost you can buy a 20v and rebuild it with 4agze pistons. then you have a brand new engine. on a stock bluetop you really dont want anymore than 12ish psi for any kind of long term reliability
  24. wtf, i told you what to do pies! best get the pro to do it, replacement screens if u screw up wont be easy!
