  1. the idea of the box is the carb sits in it, and the turbo feeds into the box that way its equal pressure inside and outside and the fuel ISNT forced out of the carb. therefore no fire. only way fuel can get out is for the pressure inside the carb to excede the pressure outside. as for fuel pressure, raising rate regulator, keeping the fuel pressure higher than the boost pressure so you will need to upgrade he fuel system to cope
  2. well they suck then unless you can mount things real close together such through sucks!
  3. id look for a carb off say a mitsi cordia etc as mentioned its a sealing issue. throttle shaft needs to be sealed. with a K series carb thats all you need to do, not sure on others
  4. an idea for the arms.... ee100 corolla rear toe link long arm with bushed ends has threaded section in the middle for adjustment if its mainly a road car id look at that cheaper, and wont wear as fast or be as harsh as rod ends.
  5. talk to the ppl doing the cert.
  6. re filters there is no reason for not runnig filters as stated.... no filter = accelrated wearing. just look at the shit thats on your car after a drive... all thats going in your engine. not cool.
  7. bah who needs a firewall! awesome heating in winter GT40 *jizz* look at things like sports racers for awesome exhausts..... how about the same thing as above. on a V12
  8. thats what i thought got me wondering when you said you can see the spider gears. then again im used to toyota ones. the subaru ones i worked with were clutch packs. and that awesome elctromagnetic centre bastard!! so have fun replacing the shims then

  12. cant say iv honestly spent a lot of time looking at the sotck ones..... so i dont know. i do know that some ppl have not found the gains they thought they would with extractors... suggesting that some of the stock ones may not be so bad
  13. how much power u going for? the chevette stock set up is good for about 5hp..... anything above sotck look at the gemini for real power go fourlink and look at the above mentioned piazza also a good source for brakes then burn the rest of the evil thing!!!
  14. can you go forward? then curve back under you could write volumes on header design.... i suggest some research to at least get an approximate guide to lenghts
  15. operated by boost/vaccum rather than a spring/vacuum im not saying its what you MUST use. im saying its what ill be looking at. for a s/c by pass valve, a conventianal dump valve prob isnt the best suited.
  16. off an sw20! mr2 turbo. i havnt investigated it totally yet, but i think itll work quite well its basicly a 2 chamber valve. instead of a single chamber like a convential dump valve
  17. definitly go blow through whats the engine? maybe look at things like mg montego for a carb. or mitsi tredia/cordia yes you need a bypass/dump valve, ill be looking into the sw20 VSV as a valve for my plans. you want it plumped back in though, otherwise the noises made will make ppl think youv just OD'd on baked beans....
  18. im in wellington at the moment. but was born in chch, lived in timaru for 20 years and then 7 in nelson i consider nelson my home and if they ever build the race track there.... then im back. SI FTW!!!
