  1. So I just got it back from Kevin Burt who are the local independant Merc people, seems to run ok, but all he did was clean the dizzy cap and put a new set of plugs in it. So I have ordered a set of leads from Startech anyway, figured it wouldnt hurt to replace them... He said the oil leak was just as much from the head gasket as the seal, so he left it alone. Probably need to find a crashed E320 and swap some shit out.
  2. It is in with the little man now, told him to just fix it all.
  3. The big arse stickers on it saying tange 2 were a bit of giveaway.
  4. Na they are quite specific/have some sort of internal suppressing thingy/am going to get raped anyway.
  5. It was just a frame, probably set up for 700c as the brake mounts are tight to the wheel. It is a Tange 2 which defines the lightness/awesomeness.
  6. Pretty sure the main issue is just the plug leads breaking down, $450 for a new set should sort that...
  7. Some more smack talk about the frame build; http://pogwardbicycleindustries.blogspot.co.nz/
  8. Re the breather, for a while on my lada twin cam I just let it drip on the ground - seemed to solve the problem lol. I then set up a catch can for it, was no great drama.
  9. You are all dicks. I will simply replace the plug leads for now.
  10. Yea I have the seals to fix the cambox leak etc, just haven't got around to it yet. There is a vac leak somewhere that causes shit idling 75% of the time, and it falters sometimes on the open road which I think is the same issue. At the moment in addition to this when it is warm is is virtually undriveable, it just pisses and farts around, misfiring etc. This happened a year ago and my mech dude replaced the dizzy cap, which mostly fixed it. Just going out now to see if that is ok. I just want to get into it and know it will go everytime is all.
  11. Have you seen the systems diagram on those M104 engines? particularly the vacuum arrangements? It is a fucking miracle it goes at all TBH. The car is sweet but the autos are difficult/slow, the engines leak like a mitsi, and it has done 365000kms. I just think it will be a decent swap, with most of the hard work done already. And stop talking sense, you are causing me to question my foregone decision.
  12. 25det probably, there is an intercooler and exhaust with custom dump pipe as well. So what would the right auto box be?
  13. So the dirty old merc wagoon is pissing me off in a big way, engine is misfiring and playing up. So I got in the internets and found a boy in Hams who has an RB conversion kit that he made, have seen pics of the mounts etc and it all seems legit. So some questions; - What is the right engine/code/year to look for - are all the RB mounts the same across the years - This conversion is for a manual, will the box mount fit an auto - There is a driveshaft, this is for a manual nissan box, will it fit into the nissan auto? - Am I a dick? Go
  14. Just built this up, it is German, 28". It is for sale as it is way too small for me. Give me money or I smash you.
  15. Ah alright a gobbie then..?
  16. I am learning to hate you on a new level bitch. Spill, as I know where you live and can steal your awesome stuff otherwise.
  17. Don't think so, there are usually 2 layers of leather, one thick, one very thin. Probably don't need the thin one. edit, the leather will be the same shape as most sprung brooks, I have one lying around if you want to take a pattern off it.. edit edit, the underlay will have been stuffed under there when the leather ripped probly.
  18. the $50 velo ideale rims are plain skinny ones, unsuitable for a beast such as this. The wide OS type are 115 each - fucking ouch.
  19. Scan is good with a couple of dimensions to get the right scale, won't take long.
  20. I rode to work on the Gazelle today, was pretty lols/fraught;
  21. Paying the 20k to get that functionality does help.
  22. I have Solidworks, including the fuckoff version with FEA etc, so if anyone is in need let me know.
  23. I just spoke to an old man with a long grey beard (who has a 1930's AJS and the same vintage Matchless), he said Murray Mclean motors in Nelson will have things you need, and also this; http://www.jampot.co.nz/ He also said the older Harleys have a seperate gearbox that might take a bit more horse if required...
  24. Dave who owns the place is a top man, I am constantly giving him wads of cash for shit.
  25. The bars I got from the font of all things awesome in bicycles; http://www.velo-ideale.com/product.php?pid=342 The levers are just right.... and those also came from Velo Ideale.
