  1. im not trying to start some shit fight, i am merly stating my options and what i have heard, but as im in the process of help a friend modify a jza80 for d1nz i will have amuch more in deepth first hand knowledge of the 2jz shortly, if i was wanting a fun car with 200 hp id already have brought me a lotus seven powerd by a supercharged hybusia engine

  3. again each to there own, but if i had the choice i know which id choose, just have a qik browse over some of the american supra forums to see the true potential of this engine, i rember reading a article about a dyno day in texas, of the 16 supras that showed up all had stock bottoms end all were daily driven, of the 16 i think it was 7 were pushing in excess of 700hp and the rest were all 550hp plus and all daily driven hehehe

How I look at it, both the 1jz and rb26dett are suposedly 205 kw factory, both can be nursed to produce more than 300kw in standard form with just bolt on's, id il most say that the 1jz would be stronger that the rb26, 2jz can not be compared to rb26 as 2jz can produce well in excess of 700hp or 400kw on stock bottom end show me a rb26 that can do this rb25 don't even compete you are looking at around 260kw on standard internal's before pistons start melting value for money 1jz powns all as they can be picked up for around the 1 g mark, add another 1500 to manual where as the bottom price form rb25 these day is around the 2k mark and rb26 is looking at 3k then you have to still purchase a 25t box on top of these prices these are just my thought's anywayz plus jz sound so sweet when gettin cained
  6. actually the 1jz is equal to the rb26dett in almost every way, plus its about 2000 cheap for intial buy, the 2jz is more compareable to the rb30 but again for cost involed for building a rb30 the jz again wins
  7. jz only way to go, easy 300kw motor hehe and 1jz can be had for 1000 dollars and only about 1500 to manual convert no excuses
  8. fuck the 7m get a 1jz , is it fuel injected or carbie 18r, Yeah, but if we're talking Cressida's, some came with 4Ms, so a swap to a 7M is a lot easier than a 1JZ, hence why I said 7M. Besides, wouldn't you go 2JZ if you were going JZ? Also, baked pastry goods. Check all your ignition earths, if it's intermittent, it's likely that it's something in the ignition circuit losing power. Check the condition of the barrel as well as the wires running from it. A friend had a similar problem in his 260Z 2+2 which turned out to be a slight nick in a wire in the ignition barrel loom, luckily no more than 5cms from the barrel so saved a lot of dramas, that was of course after we spent countless hours trying to find the damn problem, we swapped ECUs, Coils, Dizzy's, he changed injectors, fuel pump, filters.. even took it to a mechanic when we were lost. Mechanic was fucken useless and couldn't find the problem either. It was only when I gave him another ignition barrel to try that he stumbled across it. For the avergae person 2jz is not much point you are looking at arounb 3k mark where as a 1jz can be picked up for as little as 1g and are a awsome engine way better than any m sereis engine easy 300kw for any jz sereis of motor with good ecu big sinbgle and 15psi
  9. alrighty long time no updates, thgis is proving to be alot harder than first thought due to oil drian issues with 3sgte, have to construct a oil feed from exhust side of head to sump. Have created mounts for engine and gearbox jsut need to sort out clutch and should hopefully have motor and box fitted and mounted before end of month found a good sized hilux which is currently away being set up to mount in the 85, with s13 disks and ae92 calipers, diff will be rather adjustable as for breaks in the front and goin to be running cressda struts with custom revoler rcas should allow for sum fat track on the front end will get pics up asap, this is all goin to be goin before super lap,

  13. Microtech require 14.5volts to operate with out it the ignition sytems on them alwasy seem to fail. Mate has a microtech in his dx running 3tgte had nuffin but issues until he got beefed up alternator

  15. From the horse's mouth at heat treatments, heat treating stanrdard axels is a waste of time, only time that there is any gain to be made from heat treating is if they are custom made axels
  16. mate has jsut complete a hilux conversion into his dx, and was only 20kg heavier than t series diff, that was a hilux converted to disc break thou, but chuck away those drums they weigh a ton on there own hilux ftw if ur goin for maxium power have u seen the size of those axels
  17. That 30 is fucking sick, used to be an orange one that kicked around nelson with a smilar spoiler on it was actually off a early 80ty honda civic think it was the front bumper fliped upside down and cut down those wheels are fucking sex hahah got the jdm wheels so much better than modgies

Toyota Does to superchargers, the sc12 found on 4agzes and the sc14 found on 1ggze if i was you id be looking for a sc14 as you are wanting this to be daily driven forget the carbies and try to modify a fuel injection set up to work with a megasquirt as this will give you the best fuel econmy and performance as well as reiblty go the sc14 and 8psi you'll be flying

  20. imo for dirft there is no point goin through to the front strut towers, as if you have a major accident you can then throw the whole car away as the impact is sent from the front sturts through out the entire cage, where as if you dont have you cage goin to the front struts the impact on them is not excagerated throught out the entire car, yes for some fforms of motor goin through to the front struts is fine but for drift i personally wouldnt imo
