  1. Damn it. I am leaving for my South Island Road Trip of DOOM!!! Mk2 that morning so I won't be able to make it.
  2. I am driving my Charger down to the South Island on the 19th of october. I won't be back until November though. If they can fit in the back of the Charger then I can pick them up on the way back.
  3. I did the same thing with my Avenger and Charger engine rebuild. I do 300KM of fanging it through the country roads. I usually do my place warkworth and back via SH16 twice letting it cool down before each run. Heavy acceleration and deceleration. Load the engine up on hills but don't give it full noise for too long, maybe 20 seconds max at a time. My engine builder builds race engines etc and this is the method he told me to use. Plus it is fun as all hell fanging a new engine. You can feel the engine change as you do the running in process, My Avenger engine started really rough but tightened up during the running in. You could feel the power increase as the rings sealed better.
  4. I do a south island trip in my Charger each year. Great fun, last year I went all the way from Auckland to Bluff. This year I am only going from Auckland to Oamaru, I leave Auckland on the 19th of October and get back on the 29th of October. Crap, that is only a month away now. Last year I went in a convoy with 7 Valiant Chargers, a Valiant AP6 safari, a Plymouth Fury and a Plymouth Road Runner. For pics of last years trip click here http://www.rpmphotography.co.nz/index.p ... wer-Cruise I took a vodafone vodem with me so I could do daily updates on the mopar forum, it is a bit long winded but worth a read. http://www.nzmoparforum.co.nz/index.php?topic=7003.0
  5. Damn man. I was really looking forward to this today, especially because racing was cancelled also so I had a Sunday off. But yeah it is pretty rank outside and I wasn't looking forward to taking the charger out in this weather. Hopefully all the guys check this thread before leaving for greenlane.
  6. Excellent news!! The Auckland Car Club race meet at Hampton Downs on Sunday has been cancelled so I can make it along on the cruise!! I will be taking my Charger and I will have room for passengers if anyone needs a ride.
  7. Do you want me to ask on the MoPar forum? I am a regular over there so people know me well.
  8. Hahaha, Don't know if he would fall for that because he knows Sunday is always motorsport day and he knows I worship at the church of speed
  9. I can't make it on the 11th My editor wants me to do an article on a race at Hamton Downs on the same day.
  10. If for some unexplained reason the other 2 couldn't make it then I could check it out for you also.
  11. They are on every month. I think like the 3rd wednesday of each month or there abouts. keep an eye out there will be a new post with the date closer to the time.
  12. Cool, I will probably bring the Charger down because I need to come back up on Saturday so I can go to the Auckland Car Club rally sprint at hampton downs on Sunday.
  13. Okay you talked me in to it, I'm keen on the convoy. When are we planning on coming back? does anyone have a spare seat? if not I don't mind bringing the Charger or Avenger and if I do then I will have spare seats. Where is this BP we are meeting at?
  14. Yup, I got my seats repaired and recolour at a local upholsterer. Cost me $120 for both seats, Before After
  15. You can still get good photos even though it is that dark (see my Burgerfuel picture threads under past events viewtopic.php?f=29&t=27948 and viewtopic.php?f=29&t=27341 ) But yeah it was raining and there wasn't enough new cars there so I could be bothered getting out the old tripod and taking pictures. It was actually a bit smaller than normal so we need to get more guys coming along. I'm sure we could easily pack out the top carpark. It was a good night out and good to chew the fat with the guys.
  16. Yes and no, Swann insured my Charger for $26K based on a couple of pictures and they insured my Avenger for $4K but they won't let me up the value on my Avenger above $4k without a valuation even after I sent them invoices totalling over $15K
  17. I am looking for the same thing so let me know if you find anyone, preferably North Shore.
  18. You can use my 1972 Chrysler Valiant Charger. I am in the process of building my own website for my automotive photography stuff and I live on the shore so it would be great to catch up sometime.
  19. Actually yeah the Port Waikato Hillclimb could be a blast. I went down to Hampton Downs on sunday and took some track picture (See New DSLR thread) and I really enjoyed taking action pictures so I would like to give a hillclimb ago. Let me know what the plan is Richie and I will tag along to which ever you are going to.
  20. I could be keen. If we had more than a carload then I could also be keen for a convoy in the Avenger or Charger. I will just have to check my schedule and get back to you.
  21. Another great burgerfuel meet. Nice to chat with all the regulars and meet a few new guys. Photos here guys viewtopic.php?f=29&t=27948
