  2. i almost kill myself every time i get on one due to forgetting they dont have a foot brake and their turning pivot point good times
  3. re brakes on my suicycle i ran 2x brakes on the rear. just attach one in front of and one behind the bar they attach to make up a cable do line locks
  4. what you want to do now is whip the exhaust off and chuck it on the bbq will burn out any carbon deposits. Also put another outlet in it for more rasp/breathing.
  5. yea those pairs the colours will be slightly different
  6. yea it regulates the voltage go to the fa50 thread and download the manual. It has a wiring diagram - theres 6 wires in the back of the ignition connect 2 and 2 of them to hot wire it
  7. will ride quite happily with no battery
  8. or just clean all parts where a leak would be evident should one come into fruition? that, but do the lines as well (will give you a good opportunity to get up close and inspect for pinhole leaks or pinches - they do happen) use brake cleaner or kero on a brush
  9. clean everything clutch related - all the lines and surrounding areas report back with findings a couple days later
  10. im gona say, if theres no loss of fluid from the master cylinder (i didnt see if you had checked or not) that the pilot bushing is sticking and when you bleed the system its getting jiggled and freeing up for a while
  11. chucked the single carb back on (with a less poked manifold) and exhaust down pipe. dribbled some fuel down into the float chamber hand cranked her over 3 times putputputputput its so quiet, i remember it being so loud!
  12. you GC now i dont have to buy it Have the same basket, so must have been a popular addon very easy to hotwire, i have an electrics manual here somehwere
  13. 12.6mm is pretty much a half inch
  14. yea i hear they dont help the ride quality
  15. QFT found some small wire wheels to fit down the slots - worked pretty well/wish i had thought of that first low light grill is on my wall - needs more work, just want it driving again for now, will get stuck into it later will be given a wack with the lowering stick (next thing on the list is the suspension, new fluids in the lever arms, not sure if i want nolathane or just keep rubber for a cushier ride) wheels - being 114.3x4 rather than 4"x4 is a bit nicer (however the centre hole is huge, lathe on the brake drum to knock the prongs down is needed for more choice/angle grinder) I like the look of the original rims and the look of crossply sidewall Thinking i will pick up another set of OG rims and get them widened at some point otherwise i can always roll on my 13's
  16. who says i dont live the dream box of rubber bits is heading my way currently
  17. sweet jesus. do they "need" to be nolathane? i have a box of assorted GM suspension bushes that i dont mind digging through and measuring
  18. drove it to cambridge and back everyday for about 6 months and from hamilton to opotiki a couple of times
  19. thats to a tankish of gas modern fuels have pretty much removed the need for a decoke.
  20. never had a problem with it (sidevalve with so she spits a bit of oil from factory) other than the "thermostat" housing (doesnt have a thermostat) corroding through, so thats replaced. and the dissy springs and weights being gummed up so the advance was all out to wack until i figured out that was the problem and cleaned them. oh and the engine mounts were rubber and had collapsed but yea no actual problems with the engine
  21. a couple of cups of meths in the gas tank will decoke the engine
  22. no reason it wouldnt stick to a correctly prepared surface
  23. por15 perhaps or even a petrol tank sealer
  24. why would you go lower? thats negative height
