  1. Great car raisin, look on the bright side, you didnt find any chicken wire and newspaper in there Id do what tortron said. Once its sealed underneath you may be able to reach in from the boot and get some fish oil on the inside for extra protection.
  2. If a car is deregistered and has a cert for lowering/turbo engine etc, do you need to get a new cert before revinning or after revin, or is the exsisting cert fine?
  3. Hi, to my knowledge TT142/TT140 would be the bolt in solution as would TA61 and TA63 as mentioned above. Corona, Celica and Carina all share the same platform in the T140 & A60 series. Not 100% sure about the SA60 bolting up to the 3T ?? Can you look at one of those online part catalogue websites to compare part numbers/diagrams? The earier model celica and coronas TA45/ TT132 all used steering box so not bolt in.
  4. Ryanfels old gx61 when it had a 1geu started running really shitty and from memory the cold start injector was flooding the engine. Another thing to check... I suspect you will end up having to swap everything efi/electrical sensor related from your 1GEU to the new motor. Start with the easy bits, hopefully it doesnt get too involved. GL.
  5. Sweet rona wags, like many others I learnt to drive in my dads corona wagon TT130 model or something like that. Gutting to see the motor die after the work fixing it up. I wrecked a st141 wagon years ago, sold mostly all the parts off it incl rear door. no spare radiator mine was thrown away too rooted.
  6. That looks like it could be a pain to fold up, could you go to a wrecker to find some parts with a similar profile even if they are from the front door windows, use two and weld them together to get the 1400mm length you need. Compare the thickness of the tailgate glass to the glass of a donor vehicle to quickly check if it could work?
  7. Thanks be4ver, its only because im looking to go overseas im selling, I thought I would never sell it but realistically it barely gets used. Time to let it go. I saw that one from the trademe thread sell for nearly 4.5k last night, stock 1GE/auto but low k's and a tidy example.
  8. I fitted the supersharks in their blue form and took some pics of the suspension at the same time. Took the grande badge off the grill and swapped on a dohc 6 badge from a soarer MZ10. The car will be up for sale soon discuss... http://www.oldschool.co.nz/phpbb/viewtopic.php?f=18&t=14229
  9. My youtube link got messed up in the above post so here it is again.. I finally did some justice to the enkei supersharks. Pretty happy with how they turned out. First i just polished the lips and left the centres in the orangey bronze colour. Then I repainted the centres blue and polished the lips some more Havent put them on the car yet but im confident they will look the business once fitted.
  10. Looks like some work. I didnt realise there was more than one herald front aside from the vitesse twin headlight type. That sample/inspiration pic is sweet looking, do that.
  11. Awesome car! I agree those wheels will look sweeeeeeet. My first car was one of these back in the early 90's, I owned it for about 3 years, bought from a family friend for $1200. '72 GS model. Lots of rust... Metallic bronze with brown interior, white stripes down the seats. Rev counter dash, twin SU type carbs. It had fender mirrors, similar in style to your door mirror but longer stalks (I quickly removed these as they were very uncool back then). 13x6 turbos which i changed to cheviot tridens :S Locked the diff, tinted the windows blah blah I painted it about 3 times, black, primer grey and finally white. I took off all the badges, the c pillar vent moldings, and the rear quarter orange reflectors and smoothed them over with bog including the fake vents in front of the rear wheels. It cleaned the lines up quite nicely. My mate ended up buying one as well haha. In the end mine stopped running properly, pinking badly, no power, couldnt drive up the slightest of hills. I swapped it for a mates SR coupe, he later told me the timing chain tensioner/guide had broken in half. Anyway enough rambling, Im sure you wont do any of the stuff i did to mine thank god, looking forward to pics with the wheels fitted and engine, interior pics if you have any.
  12. 1Gs, we either love them or hate them, that caked on shit is prtty mild, when there are 20mm long stalagtites of crud hanging down thats when you know its probably had 3 oil changes its whole life! W58 would be perfect, same as the factory W55 box apart from the ratios like you say. You need the rear shifter that comes in MA70, GA70 supra, GX71, GX81
  13. Great job saving this, nice to find it in that good condition and not after the demo derby! Hard to imagine how i would feel going to a demolition derby and seeing a tidy one of these drive out hahaaha Im watching the project thread with interest, nice fast progress too, keep up the good work
  14. Hey man car looks tough. twin round headlights are a nice touch, havent seen them fitted to a sedan before, pretty sure they only came on the TX67 wagons. Hit me up if you need any GX61 parts i may be able to help. I have a rear bumper to suit this model, i notice you dont have one fitted. Looking forward to some updates
