  1. How long ago was it done if you dunno I would change it. I did a roll back on this steep hill one day in my old Escort and it striped the teeth off the belt at high revs I cranked it and thought oh no that don't sound good poped the hood looked at it cranked it a few more times eventually noticed the cam pully was'nt moveing engine was all good though.
  2. thats a bit ruff, not to mention making the taper useless. adjustable top arms arnt hard to make. Um not the hole that the taper goes through the holes that the ball joint bracket bolts onto. The top ball joint on a Gemini bolt onto the top arm if you slot those holes you can adjust the camber just like the slots on an adjustable strut hat.
  3. Um never done it myself I read it online once it was a full write up had pics and everything. Ask on ozgemini someone on there is bound to have done it. I cant see why it would'nt be legal it's basicly the same thing as adjustable strut hats.
  4. You can get those spline tools from most trade stores. You need a valve compressor, grinding paste and the little suchtion cup thing to grind the valves with.
  5. I'd roll the lip out of the gaurd's and camber the wheels. Camber can be adjusted on the Gemini or Chevette by sloting the top stub axle ball joint holes.
  6. yeah I got one for free felt like I ripped someone off when I found out what they cost new All the info on what sensors are needed and what they can do is on the link I put up before.
  7. You have to get them from the US I emailed them and they said they've sent them here before and it was $400 NZD for the one I wanted, was about another $180 for the DIY laptop conectors/software ect. They come with a MAP sensor and you can use most types of ignition with them.
  8. I like the sound of those Megasquirt computers. Their cheap and have all the features and their desined for the DIY. From what I've read it seems you can tune it yourself to a point of course. I'm going to be getting one eventually mainly because of the price. http://www.megasquirt.info/
  9. Yeah it was in the end made a huge differance in power over no intercooler. It's all been taken off time for a warrent.
  10. yep forget carbs and turbos I don't know how many times I keep saying it people just can't resist finding out for themselves lol. Well I found out for myself and it was fine never had to fuck with it at all. But yeah injection if far better and I'm doing that now.
  11. Yes good pump so everyone seems to think and I got one for free
  12. I would buy it if it was in whangarei
  13. If you want to test the turbo pull the turbo inlet off and try and spin the compressor wheel if it's seiezed or stiff its stuffed it should spin freely also look at the wheel if you can and see if its damaged.
  14. There is a DOCH model its a G200w rather than G200z which is a single cam no turbo the turbo model used the 4zc1 engine which is also a single cam.
  15. For three hundy thats a score. You can also use the Piazza front brakes the turbo model have vented 250mm rotors compaired to the tiny solid Gemini ones.
  16. Rajay were common in the 70's I have a book on forced induction has heaps of stuff about Rajay in it. They are still used in planes not sure if any cars use them anymore though.
  17. I have a 3.9 coon engine for sale would go nicely in a capri As for that turbo setup on trademe for that price you could almost get custom headers and a better turbo
  18. I use a 13b turbo Mazda Luce pump they are rated quite high also. I also have a VL commy pump as well that I will be useing later when I finish my injection setup. I've been told that camira pumps are the same as VL ones and a few Fords had them as well they are a Bosch pump that may make it a bit easier to find one.
  19. Probably take it all off its going to need a serious clean to get rid of all the fileing's ect once its been machined.
  20. You could put any number of more powerfull engines in but I think a rota would be something that would turn heads
  21. My TE is an 82. Those G161z Gem engines are tough I have'nt killed one yet and I have had three Gemini's and I've turboed one of them and it still has'nt died either. Your Gem looks tough mate well done.
  22. Would it clear with soft mounts? I'd just hack the brace off and get one weld further down or just leave it.
  23. Stuffed plug leads will cause spark to jump at the coil.
