  1. cheers for pics dave roman nice turnout. what a scorcher of a day! and only one beaching on the speed bumps. I consider that a win
  2. i bring bbq. byo meat. will leave it running from 12pm n you guys can drive it
  3. Cheers chris. just saying there will be notice board up for anyone that didn't see the message. Also Facebooked it. http://www.facebook.com/events/269000313230680/ just gotta sort how to make it public.
  4. cheers neil. there'll be some signs up. basically can go to the albany campus, turn around and come back out and turn left, turn left onto Albany Highway, through a few intersections, then left onto Eastbourne Rd. You'll know you're at the right place if you go over speed bumps. (pretty decent ones too). http://goo.gl/maps/kHWRE
  5. one week to go! Watch for detour signs. We've had to shift to the other massey campus around the corner due to a market happening same day. But you'll be pleasantly surprised with the amount of parking space and trees for shade!
  6. cruise details: from Westgate outside BK or from Greenlane outside McD's 10.15am meet and 10.45am depart
  7. good to see your kp project in progress finally neil! nice write up when i looked into this... found the later alts have a different shaft size than the K, R and T series engines so swapping pullies wasn't a bolt in.. but there's surely one somewhere that works. a rattle gun would make short work of that alternator nut for next time too. (like go local garage).
  8. you now have 5 weeks notice to book an annual leave! and then theres the extended lunch break trick...
  9. So..... Sunday 10th March 11am - 3pm Massey University Campus, Eastbourne Rd, around the block from usual Massey carpark- refer map. Auckland Cruise details: from Westgate outside BK or from Greenlane outside McD's 10.15am meet and 10.45am depart Map here previous meets info here http://www.toycrazy....classicjap.html
  10. direct link... http://www.toycrazy.net/tech/struts.html struts are all 90mm bolt spacing in the _A6# celica/carina so at least the strut will fit. The ball joints are different between the 6cyl and 4cyl. So be warned, if it's made for the ma61 then the taper is probably bigger than the rwd corolla's or 4cyl ta63/aa63/ra63 etc. mx73 cressida knuckles have the larger taper too. they still have the same 14mm thread but the tapered seat varies. Best to confirm that with T3 if using them on aa63. Or better yet, get the ra64 version which should be correct. Also the M series struts have a fatter 21mm disk and the hub is different to accomodate the offset. stub axle is same between the struts I believe but the camber varies depending on the car it fitted to.
  11. I'll offer drawing up basic stuff in solidworks as I use it everyday at work. especially if toyota related. can save as .dxf .dwg etc. but need to supply decent enough sketches or scans to work from. I can also host files if requested. had my current website up since 2004. must PM me! Some pics of parts i've drawn for myself http://toycrazy.net/...y/parts/engine/ Garrett flange drawings can be found here. Click on the turbo and each one has pdf drawings of the flange sizes etc. http://www.turbobyga...t/turbochargers www.dropbox.com is a file sharing site we've started using at work. So simple and no bullshit.
  12. hmm theres the 5k van cable bracket here which bolts to the rocker cover. not sure if it matches the length of the kp/ke cable but worth a try? Im not sure which plug you're talking bout re the indicator plug? was that on the steering column or at the indicators? you'll probably find the early type hazard switch you've got on the dash doesn't match the late loom. easy to swap the switch to match the loom. can identify them coz early switch has a smaller diameter pull knob than the late one. Heater control panel has a different layout between early/late so would have to swap the whole thing including the levers and cables to get early type in there for matching woodgrains. better to swap face plates for originality i reckons.
  13. oh doh haha i looked for a discuss thread but didn't find. prob not on the first 2 pages or summin silly. oh well. oh hey that ke2 cable is the early version from my '71. the later SR coupe (twincarb) ones have a knob thingee on the carb end. i'd assume the later ke2 3k did too. might be an easy swap if you can find one. Was the length wrong using the kp starlet cable and cable bracket attached to the carb mounting plate? Also notice how the radio panel has a reddish and brighter tinge to the woodgrain than the rest. well yeah that's the difference between the early and late woodgrains. faded looking ones are the early type. prob with miles speedo.
  14. project //oldschool.co.nz/index.php?/topic/34220-julius-ke25-rolla-coupe/ great start! keep it up man
  15. 1pm for those keen. after 2pm they pretty much booked out. kthxbye
  16. giz a txt if you wanna know where we are/ who we are (number removed)
  17. am getting a group together for a session or two of drift karts hamilton this saturday after lunch. maybe go wongs after for a feed. info/pricing here http://www.blastacars.co.nz/prices-on-g ... amilton/13 should be $1 per min per person if we have 10 or more people in the group anyones keen? 1pm - 2pm
  18. if cant find rwd water outlet, can rig up the fwd ae82 one with a modified bypass pipe and replace radiator hose to suit. not as easy as getting the correct parts of course. Wastegate likely missing the fitting on top to connect a vacuum hose to the intake pipe after turbo (or on turbo compressor housing itself). this opens the wastegate when max boost is reached.
  19. looks sweet bo. cruisy as aye, and handles like a cruise liner too. boat styz! springs need to harden the f8ck up! well mine did anyway. I like your work. welding exempt haha. scroll down bottom http://chase.co.nz/acatalog/Accessories.html
  20. 1.5? or 1.6 find a stamped chassis code ke75. i bet you cant. most likely a vin code. dont believe everything on wiki either.. it's written by humans. often copied off net or hearsay. thought states got the following... ke70 1.3 4k-c ae71 1.6 4a-c te71 1.6 2t-c te72 1.8 3t-c people on 3tcgarage would confirm
  21. likely be the code on american vin plate. which doesn't necessarily mean the chassis code is same. no such thing as a jdm ke75. but ke70/71/72/73/74 yes This site says so, has specs from all the jdm brochures in 'whats e7' menu. http://www.group5-web.com/ basically this ke70 = 1290cc 4k, 4k-u, 4k-u(II) (some international) ke71V = 1290cc 4k-j ke72V = 1290cc 4k-j ke73G = 1290cc 4k-u(II) ke74V = 1486cc 5k-j te70 = 1770cc 13t-u te71 = 1588cc 2t, 2t-c, 2t-b, 2tgeu (some international) te72 = 1770cc 3t-c (international) te73V = 1588cc 12t-j te74V = 1588cc 12t-j ae70 = 1452cc 3a-u, 3a-u(II) ae71 = 1587cc 4a-c (international) ce71V = 1839cc 1c ce72G = 1839cc 1c the V and G after chassis code refer to vans (wagon or estate whatever you want to call it)
  22. could always jam a 4x3 vertically under each side of the truss to support the weight
