  1. Found the download link for the x/flow book, just downloaded it again and it works fine. Also found a Pinto one while i was there. (Just do the free download and wait like a minute for them to start). Crossflow: http://rapidshare.com/files/381904855/Ford_s_Kent_Crossflow_Engine.pdf Pinto: http://rapidshare.com/files/382326327/how_to_power_tune_Ford_SOHC_DOHC.pdf Cheers Matt
  2. Got it sorted, just silicones the park bulb behind the clear clear bit on the sealed unit. Passed wof sweet as. Will do for now till I get some decent lights. Cheers for the help
  3. Got these ones off trademe. Yea prob didn't explain that well. The lights have a circle cut out of them in the metal where the park lights would go. The hole has like a rubber / silicon cover on it though that looks like it's always been there. Concern is that if I just cut that rubber out and plug in the park lights it will fuck them coz it's a sealed unit. Thinking theyre just from a metal cast that's used for both types kinda thing. Raizer, will it not matter that the park lights are orange if I go the indicator way? Cheers guys! Matt
  4. The new bulbs have a space for the parklights, but its siliconed over (looks like its like this from factory). Are there any implications with just putting the park lights in there and siliconing over it again? Not a special gas / no oxygen in the lamps or anything?
  5. Hmm I see, so the park lights are required as well for the warrant? Just focused on getting the car warranted now, as will be redoing all this wiring when I set up spot-lights and de-loom the engine bay. Is there somewhere in the indicator unit that I could mount the park light bulbs in Raizer? Dam should have got some lamps with the park lights in them! Cheers guys
  6. Something funny with the wiring in the new escort around the headlights. I have some new sealed beam units that have the 3 prongs going into it. The escort loom has 3 wires going to the main unit, and also 2 wires going to what i think is the park light. New sealed beam units don't have the smaller park light in the side of them like the old ones did. Question is, with the new sealed beam ones with no park lights in the side, does the main unit deal with all 3 light settings (park / lights on / full beam?) and do I not need to worry about the other 2 wires? In theory I should just be able to plug it in and look myself, but at the moment no power is getting to the main units at all as the looms been butchered. Just want to double check how this is meant to work with the new unit before I figure out why there's no power. Hope that makes sense! Cheers Matt
  7. Hey bro, could i get a rough quote on fitting 4 flared guards and front air dam to a mk2 escort. Would need to be rivited/fibreglassed on, and molded to the body (not bolt on style flares). Also will obviously need the panels repainted too, not sure if you can do / have any one that could do that. Cheers Matt
  8. Think I have that book as a pdf somewhere. Will look. Have 1300 pistons in my 1600 with a fast road / rally cam (stage 3 from kelfords) and dellorto 40's. I'd tell you how it runs but I haven't got it in the car yet. Pics/info in my project thread.
  9. Used a wirebrush drill bit to get the paint off some old wheels, worked really well.
  10. I'm sure I remember one being on TradeMe, the firewall was pretty modified though... (like it was almost mid engined)
  11. Lol sweet. Hmm $725 from Palmside though
  12. Think I'm gonna try out the AP calipers since I have them here already. How much work/money is involved with setting up a pedal box? I see palmside do a kit but im just not sure what else is required apart from the pedal box itself? Know nothing about them haha. Cheers
  13. Cheers guys Do you think having the 4pot calipers and bigger disks will be enough stopping power for the worked crossflow? There are some Land Rover remote boosters on trademe at the moment, any idea how much of a hassle it is to set these up and whether its worth it at all? Car will be used a lot driving through the gorge's either side of Gizzy where I've had brake fade in other cars, so think I might as well go for the vented disks. Do the stock calipers fit over the 2.8 disks? Matt
  14. Sup guys I need to figure out what to do with the brakes on my Escort. I have a pair of AP 4pots and am going to get the 2.9i capri discs. My biggest problem is that the boosters all been removed to fit the side-draughts (and we've grinded off all the brackets etc), and I'm keen to run a remote booster. I have 0% knowledge about whats involved with this, and what to get one out of and any other bits I'll need. Anyone got any ideas or set up remote boosters in their Escorts? Cheers Matt
  15. Got the new wheels, 15x8 superlights. Guards can be attached to match them and panel beating can finally start!
  16. have also seen that happen before with similar results.
  17. Don't really know him aye bro, can he get the hook ups? Have already ordered those ones anyways, 15x8 in 108 with -4 offset Hopefully they fill up my flares! $1300 delivered meh.
  18. I'm about to get these for my MK2 in 15x8. http://www.trademe.co.nz/Browse/Listing.aspx?id=206302483 Have flared guards though.
  19. I've got an electronic dizzy in mine, was $300 brand new off trademe. Haven't started up the motor yet so don't know how good it is though! There's a few photos of it in my build thread though if you click my signature. Cheers, Matt
  20. I got this Subaru wagon for sale... http://www.trademe.co.nz/Browse/Listing.aspx?id=200016652
  21. Cheers bro, can't wait to get it finished aye.
  22. Cheers mate, head work was done at a place called Chris Carrick Reconditioners in Wanganui. Head work wasn't mates rates unfortunately, but the engine build was ($650 for the entire build including a steel head gasket and the oil filter).
  23. Engine is finally built. Hopefully I can get it running over new years
  24. Engine is now together, I just need to finish painting it when I'm back in Gisborne over new years. Then its a matter of setting up the carbs, and sorting out the electrics (need a side entry cap for the dizzy and some sort of coil).
  25. I've also got a set of coby's but am thinking of getting something else due to hearing bad things about them. Also apparently the coby paint falls off straight away? Anyone know what those polished ones that are always on trademe at the moment are like? Cheers Matt
