  1. Just get a kit, do it yourself. Piece of piss.
  2. I just moved your post into the discussion thread Steve. I figured the tank would be a pain in the ass! Sounds like the much have replaced the carb too. I was hoping to use the glass plate from my C110 carb but it's a slightly different shape so it's a no can do unfortunately. I'm quite impressed though at how well the engine runs, despite having massive ring/valve issues and losing a lot of oil via smoke, it's still purrs pretty damned nicely!
  3. Did you bleed the master? Edit: Fixed my shit English
  4. Prefer the steelies. Those mags are on just about every American car I see nowadays, and they bore the shit out of me, afterall, they're just a modern Cragar style. Not horrible, but takes away from the car IMO.
  5. Another couple of pictures to show the shiney beige
  6. The private correspondence. kyteler has the mail arrived yet? September 9, sending the reply. . . Perhaps, this is not able to receive mail? Is that on his blog? I've not written the reply yet as I was waiting to get some more photos for him, of the colour options in the parts book and such, I will write the reply now and also apologise in it for the delay.
  7. Yeah I'm pretty happy, it's made me a little disappointed though, in that there's still some creeping rust in most panels so it has to be taken back regardless Hopefully though it tidies it up enough so that once the engine is all sorted and the brakes adjusted, it will get through a VIN check fairly easily, then it's scuff back, tidy and Satin Black time. It did make me consider leaving it factory colours, and it's likely that I would, if it didn't have to be taken back and repaired in so many places.
  8. VATZ HOW EYE GET AXE-ESS 4 MAI CRANK HANDILL THO! Edit: Also...
  9. Some more playing about with the carb and some more polishing. The problem I had initially with the carb is that it looked as though someone had jammed a steel plate in and bent the alloy around it, to hold it in, so when i first cleaned it out, I didn't get into the float chamber because I was dubious about said plate and how the surroundings looked. However, after now having this parts book, I discovered that the non-G2 powered cars didn't have the plate, but the G2 ones did. So with that discovery taken into account, some fine screwdrivers were used to wedge the plate out from in front the float bowl and this is what was discovered; It's a bit yuck in there. With that done now, the carb will need to be taken off again and the jets and breathers all blown out once more. Not a big drama, all good, will do that next week. I also did some more brake work, the rear brakes have been done as well now, which means that all the brake drum cylinders have more been removed, cleaned up, reassembled and the brake system bled. Hoorah! I went ahead and tested the brakes. The right hand side is working mint, the left will need adjusted. Being the car is from 1963 there's no self adjustment in the brakes, however, there is an access hole for the adjust, but.. it's easier to just take the drums off and adjust, because it's a pain in the ass to get to the adjuster easily regardless of this hole. I then went ahead and polished another 1/4 of the car, this time I took some slightly better shots; BEFORE; (note the scratches, rust stains and scuff and greasy hand marks as well as the oxidization) DURING; with cut applied, firmly but not 100%, enough to get the majority of the standout flaws off AFTER; Ooooh, shiney beige! As I said yesterday. After I've given the whole car a once over in sections, I'll go over it again another time, to get rid of any residual crap that I've missed and the remainder of the stubborn oxidization. The eagle eyed of you will notice a series of bodge repairs in the panel work. Hopefully not too much of a drama to remedy, finding panels might prove a little difficult to say the least! Luckily I know a really good body man.
  10. Played around with the L/F Drum today, checked compression in the engine. Its down on 3, which explains the heinous amounts of smoke, but it's not all bad I guess. The engine runs well enough to move it in and out of the shed which is all I'm really after at the moment. After pissing around getting greasy and dirty fixing the L/F Drum; I turned my attention to something a little more instantly gratifying, a cut and polish; You can see the level of oxidization on the far side of the boot lid. Was impressed and pleased at how well it came up; I've only done from the B-pillar back and half the boot/rear. So, 1/4 of the car. Will likely do the rest tomorrow, then give it all a quick extra going over and it should come up fairly sweet I think going by the current results. An Artsy shot, just because;
  11. Yeah man, no worries. A decent picture once you've got it ready to rock (assembled before disassembly to paint) fire it to me and I'll fuck about with it.
  12. Nothing wrong with adding a "bosozoku" look to a car that isn't of Japanese origin. There's a particular Peugeot on RR that looks awesome with such things done.
  13. It's port size that's the problem rather than anything else. Why would you put the tiny ported RB20DE head onto a 3.0, just doesn't make any sense. I see no problem with maintaining a SOHC RB30E, depends what you're after really. A nice set of pipes and increased induction on a 3.0 would be sweet in standard form, if you wanted more over standard though and power was a demand, I think you'd be silly to not go to the DOHC head, even if just for ease of upgrade parts (ie. camshafts etc) The good thing about a RB30E is that it still runs a simple distributor setup, so slapping on some triples wouldn't cause too many other issues in regards to the ignition. HOWEVER. For the amount of pissing about in remaining SOHC. You might as well build up an L28 for it. Bore it out to 3.0, F54 block, N42 head, to dome porting work, add a mild cam, some triples, a wicked set of headers, increase the comp ratio. Bang you're done. It'll sound better than an RB too.
  14. Well, I did a bit of a disassemble, clean and reassemble on the carb today, it ran MINT. So mint, I fixed the binding R/F brake and decided to try my luck taking it for a spin. I got a few kms but something went a miss on the way back. I think it's a fuel delivery issue but unsure exactly where and what. Might just be low fuel in the tank. Which should really be removed and drained out anyway I put an inline filter in (it didn't have one initially) and the amount of crap it's picked up, while to be entirely expected. Is absolutely hilarious. So, next week... sort out the rest of the brakes so that all four drums are working as well as the R/F is now and then likely work on the steering having a theatre's worth of play in it and then onto the fuel tank. The short term is to get the car actually running and able to be driven, so that anything else I need to get done, is a HELL of a lot easier with a movable car. Unfortunately, two things have come up recently that require cash. One is another Skyline and the other is an engine for my other Classic Skyline, the C110. So, things may slow to a grinding halt on this again. We'll see.
  15. No real Time-line actually man. Things keep getting held up and others things become available. I've recently learned of a KHR30 PNV that I'm going to try pick up, this would mean less money and time for the S21 and C110 but, it's the opportunities in getting the cars themselves that I prefer to not miss, once I have them, then nothing has to be rushed. I like your idea though, was always most definately keen to roll Beach-Hop in it once it was done regardless and to create a little Japanese invasion would rule, I reckon. I think we'd get some serious attention. Though most people will assume my car is American
  16. Thanks to solidstripe for the hookup (a while back), I managed to get this, arrived in the post today;
  17. Mean, seen all those pictures before but they still rock my socks. Prince. Defeating Porsche's since the 60's
  18. Ok, so after posting the link to blog site above, I recently got a new blog entry on the guys page when he saw so many visitors onto his site from a .nz suffix. Stoked. I was just talking to my boss and she translated for me some things that google couldn't grasp and she will translate a letter for me that I will write whilst at work tonight, then I will email the guy directly with it. Now there's a blog entry that links directly to this thread, as opposed to the one on JNC, which might not receive as many updates or at least it will be interrupted by people commenting inbetween, unlike OS, which keeps it seperate. In other non-internet news. If today's weather keeps up over the weekend, I'll hopefully get a lot more done on the car.
  19. Yeah man, if possible. All you're doing is shocking the steel so the taper lock breaks. It might take a single light-ish tap, it might take a fair bash. Depends, some are easy, some are hard. You'll find out.
  20. Step 1: Get a fucking hammer Step 2: FUCKEN BANG! Step 3: FUCKEN BANG other side. Step 4: If step 2 and three don't work after several attempts, try then both together. Step 5: Fucken sorted.
  21. More so that the pulley is on evenly and it can push the shaft/pump down and straight off the pulley wheel as opposed to on a slight angle which would cause a binding issue.
  22. LOL! You put on two nuts and then undo the bottom one, as it presses against the top one it will start undoing the threaded bolt from the pulley.
  23. Nothing to speak of directly. However I just discovered that I am e-famous! http://mizma-g.cocolog-nifty.com/blog/2 ... _3ce2.html Of particular note, is how the title translates. "Prince dug skyline like supermarkets" and this... "Speaking of Super skyline in the country and not just the only extant only Ultra Rare car, but has apparently been found at the location overseas. Right-hand drive vehicles is that the background of the atmosphere from Australia or New Zealand, I think, but I'm not sure it is familiar. For reference, New Zealand had been exported to the間違いな. (↓) (↓) " I'm not sure why, but I'm stoked. Will get my boss to translate a few words for me to send to them I think, rather than using google translate.
  24. I'm also interested to know this, wondering whether I should go this way with both the 110 and 21. Though I was of the opinion that sand is not the best but glass? or other media is the line to take.
