Ok, so heres the latest pics. remembering that i havent had any money to spend on it in the last 2 months i think ive made semi-reasonable progress lol Windscreen surround is almost done. Just a bit more filling and sanding to go on that. Dash re-construction still needs a bit more sanding and filling though. its being a cunt. distorted quite badly while welding unfortunately. so theres a lot of dips and rises to smooth out. may need to take a hammer to a few bits Forgot to grab pis of gaurds so will get some next time im down there. Have also started work on the front panel (nose cone?) which is just surface rust. might get it acid dipped (along with a few other parts) instead of sanding it all down, and then just bare metal it. choice.

be warned, use protection (lol) when vice gripping! otherwise you will fuck your shafts (lol) and it will ruin the seals in your shock

yep using gas mig. have majorly distorted one of my gaurds after doing small spots to hold patch in place, then spotting around the join to fill it in. wonder if just leave it to cool more between spots... mind you, i have no idea how the welder is set up. none of the little pictures on the front make any sense lol

When welding patches into bodywork, do you need to weld right across the join between patch and the rest of the panel? or are regular evenly spaced spot welds ok?
