The sc14 isnt to hard to find and its bigger then the 12 too, its guna be the basis of my build, think you can pick them up from around 800 bucks. As for the pullys u can use the ones of the 4agze or 1g
  5. cheers every one. well i got bored so its priemr brown now and a shit job of it too but no worries il get round to it properly soon enough. maint problem was the guy before me ripped of the side trimmings and took of have the paint with it. so massive cravis along the side of the car. sanding sounds like the way to go so i guess ill just stick with that. def'
  6. Back after a long leave of absence, and now with a '78 coup like zep's. The paint on her's screwed so ive sanded back the top coat and just primered over that, just a ghetto job for the time cause its getting a cheap cammo job. Talking serious paint prep tho, as a way of cutting down the costs on a profesional job. Opinions and adive on prep, too sand the car back or too paint strip the who car back to bare metal. Paint striping her sounds easyer, but then you got to do a whole lot of body work vs the tiresome work of sanding her back but with les body work needed. Any one with experance? Def'
  7. mmm Point made there jerm, i was just thinking if your trying to build a performance car you may as well just save them pennys, stop drinking em hennys, and drop in a hemi def'
  8. mm yeah but they had a couple of grand throwen at them cos of the cc limitations, i mean surely if they were aloud they would have put big engines in them, would proberly cost the same too. Dunno just pondering why you would start with the 1300 as a base? I herd the 2lt sierra engine t/p was a "piece a piss" N shouldnt u be workin jerm? Im n at teh office number crunchin Def
  9. Aight, dont get me rong, im not flaming or anything, just a little interested, but.... how fast can a 1300 carbi really be, i mean ive been in 1300 efi's and well, it was slow as a dog, and this is new technology(it was a 1998) .The esky engines are 20 or so years old so how can they compare/compete? some one fill me in? I know a worked pinto can be quite fast, but a 1300 or 1600..? Used to have a ratz as 2lt carbi 626 in my old 323(1980) and it went alrite, not really fast- my daily diver ( a pos honda 1600 sohc) would have kicked its ass. W0rd! Def'
  10. best get some fuel system treatment or injector cleaner(works just he same for carbis) gets ride of condensation in the tank. prob a good idea, get some from work eh.

    Locking Diffs

^^ i soarta agree with what low lancer was sayin eh,who knows what you mite encounter on the raod and it just increases the risk if your driving an illigal car, its stupid to risk someone elses life caouse your car is dangerous. but in this case its sweet, its for baypark skids i assume. prob guna be down there myself. out of interest how would you block fo the rear break lines? see yall at the skids! Def'
  12. yeah u can get boskits for them, $100 bucks from repco, where about u live, mite be able to sort u out.

    2T_GEU

yeah you'll def need a cert eh. As for the 2t geu, there cheap as,remeber i guy from my work was putting one in his ke35.i think it'l go alrite eh , think they put out round 110bhp.but its an old engine so wont go as hard as some thing newer like its equlivant 4age. theres quiet alot of engins out there that will do the job-from toyota. Also to consider could be the 18rg, a 2ltr twin cam wit more power and again pretty cheap. ...or theres the 3t-gteu 1.8 twins spark turbs-thats would be fun heres a web site with a little bit on the 2t-geu conversion http://www.arfabuck.orcon.net.nz/KE70-2tgeu.htm def

    Cooling

or engine flush, dont run it for longer then 5 minutes tho,
  16. You can still run a bov and i/c in a carbi operation. Going the injection method will be more expensive. You'd nee dmore then just a manifold to get the injection working, along witht he injectors pumop and all the othe rmess thats goes with is is proberly the most difficult part;getting the ecu/computer that does the job. Then you have to completely programe it to suit your engine(maybe you could use a 13bre turbo ecu not sure, but thatw ould have to be remaped)Your car would spend alot of time on the dyno geting sorted so it woudl run.Sorting out boost/fuel/igintion maps ect. Which is generally quiet expensive , recon its bit too much hassel unless your going hard core dragger/ and you got a bit opf money/ time. Other wise carbi would be sweet. The aussie dyson rotary drag car that held the title of fastest rota was carbi and that had a fucking cunky i/c. Basicly wit carby theres two methods, blow through, where the trubo is befor the carbi, or suck through, where the carbi comes after the turbo(what youve got) With a blow through you can easlly plumb in and ic and bov. (not bov is oly to reduce lags int he turb so has no aplictaion on a suck through ast there is no butterfly to prevent boost/cause back pressure ont he turb's compressor) the i/c would just go between the turbo and carbi (sorta like the injected method, if you imagine the carbi as the throttel body) basicly and injected engine will always be smother then a carbi fed engine, but take a lot off work to get right, most of which you'll have to pay some one to do for you. Talking cost versus benifit in you situation porberly carbi would be the way to go. Def'
