  1. I'm an idiot more like. But thats good news! the B pillar looks intact where they've chopped it so theres that going for it, i can work the rest out. If it can be certfied thats good enough at this point. thanks for the info. i'd best try and buy it now then.
  2. That would be a good idea. very good idea. its beyond my capabilities though, at this point in time anyway. i need to watch more youtube to attempt that. but i dunno, first i need to win the auction, then i need to assess it, then i need to make a plan, then i need to rob a bank.. if the roof chop is certable.
  3. the floor inside exists but i dont know if it will support any weight, sills dont exist, not sure about the rear deck area as theres rotten ply over it, i'm not that hopefull. stupid big project i agree, but it could be great, put about 15 grand into it, and overnight parts from japan.... or it could just be a parts car. or give it a wash, coat of matt black and build a burnout car
  4. Cheers, it's a big project I know, but the thing that I'm not sure about is the roof rewelded onto the middle of the rear doors, and the fact the doors are still there, just welded up. I dont mind a bit of bodgery, but I need legal bodgery Lol. Also mostly at this stage Im just not sure of the first step. edit, in the secomd picture also you can see the remains of the C pillars half way down the deck.
  5. Hi Cletus, i'm looking at buying a car that was chopped into a ute years ago. Been off the rd yrs, rego isn't on carjam. What's the first step to looking at getting it back on the rd? Do i need to ring a certifier in chch and get him to have a look at it? Old mate reckons it was on the rd, but how legal it was I dunno. Also I've had a look on the lvvta website but haven't bought any of the download info yet, I was hoping to get a second opinion before I start spending too much and starting work on something which might always be a paddock car. Edit, pics added. It was a 4dr car which
  6. I've recommissioned the cortina as of last week, so am keen to take it out. I'll try and bring it.
  7. I'm gonna come say hi. Do the classic cars come out or just the classic people?
  8. This guy also looks like a good shout!
  9. i can try the cortina in for a wof if you havent got anything sorted. no issues either way, just if it breaks down he has to help push, its the rules. Edit, i also have a mate with a very nice VE commy V8, walkinshaw bits, tis the thing to hoon about in so i'm told, he would be keen for gas money, he usually is anyway
  10. I bought this and a trowel today for $3 . Didnt expect much but it had weight to it. An hr with some wet and dry and it turns out its got some age and was a good make in the good old days. 'Rabone no1905 8". '

    diesel spam

evening diesel spammers, i've got a 2005 courier 2.5 wlt with a sick injector pump. its leaking heavily out of the bottom. i took the housing off today, removed the springs and seat and a small piston/ slider, cleaned but its no better. can anyone tell me what that parts called and is it serviceable?
  13. I think that's the idea yeah. Or if a stones on that trajectory toward the screen the perspex is the point of impact.
  14. i forget but i doubt she has, i've just messaged and asked her
  15. i'm planning on freshening up the underside of my triumph soon, the underside is the old teal green colour and also oily, scummy and 45ish years old so i was going to clean it all up and paint it black. will anyone get funny about this at wof time? i plan on dropping all the suspension, leaving whatever factory coating is there already and cleaning and painting it. i'm not using anything heavy or bitumous etc like a deck liner, just a satin black rattle can probably. i'm going to be replacing the bushings and clean up the entire suspension upgrading and replacing as it needs. but i dont want
  16. i have a female friend that got a shopping list of fails on her classic mini and she rang me up in tears because she couldn't afford the repairs, i took the job on for parts cost ( i know i'm an idiot) but there was nothing wrong with any of it. cunt was just trying his luck. i cleaned the brakes out ( drums all round), greased everything that was greaseable and took it to my guy with the previous fail sheet and the story, told him if he failed it i'd fix whatever he wanted. 2 hrs later he phoned me up and said ' no, you were right joe, thats just how they are'. it cost another $45 but was wo
  17. the macks i drive have 'stone guards' on the front, the perspex wings effectively that have the trucks name on them usually. when i'm in the quarry the dust is incredible and it consumes the truck sometimes but theres a lot of dead air behind that wing and between that and the windscreen the dust swirls gently and settles on the bonnet, it sits there until i've driven aroundand out of the quarry at 30kph, driven onto the rd and i'm doing a decent speed, i dont know if thats a tuneable effect, or if you want a bug catcher on the front of your sleek looking car, but its information, and its writ
  18. I legit tried to get to my first ever meet in dec and my clutch slave fucked out when I went to use it. Typical.
  19. i hung the bike on ratchet straps from the rafters and then it was high enough to use my trolley jack
  20. I was kinda freaked out I had to dismantle the top end to get the head off which is something I'm not used to but with the workshop manual it was all good. 46kg total weight is nice I'm not gonna lie. But the 3 point pivot thingy between swing arm, rear motor mounts and kick stand was awkward when befitting but turned out all good.
  21. I changed the HGs on my bros bike. I Kinda enjoyed it, and kinda stressed out about it because I've never touched anything with 2 wheels before but it runs sweet as now its really crisp and way more responsive than it ever was. I was pretty stoked with myself.
