  1. Yup, ideally i'd like the interior completely original. Only thing that should be different is using that different speedo cluster. Found some creme door cards out at Wilfs in Danevirke but his son wants to keep them for his own. Quite hard to find them i've found And yeah, live rego with those plates for sure!!
  2. Did they come out in the KE25 deluxe too? It's from one or the ither anyway. I had a ke25 here one stage, and before taking the front and rear rolling setup, I took the cluster too
  3. So the journey begins! //oldschool.co.nz/index.php?/topic/48287-pbaines-1973-toyota-corolla-ke20/ Have got the 7A-GE sitting out in the shed slapped together. Need to do a full rebuild though etc
  4. Discussion: //oldschool.co.nz/index.php?/topic/48288-pbaines-1973-toyota-corolla-ke20/ Well time to stat a build log for the KE20 I'm about to start. Plan is to paint it a complete cherry Red as the engine bay already is, creamy white interior (trying to source original), black carpets. Specs: Black Top ITB's 16v 7A-GE Hilux Diff with a 3.9 diff head (or around'a'bouts) Mazda RX7 Front and Rear callipers Car all ready has the hilux diff in it, which is about 50mm shorter overall than standard so can put some nice dish rims on the back. Maybe some SSR meshies or Volk Rays
  5. Bliss, might go to toyota and pickup a water pump unit then. Shame about the heat outlet though, quite hard to find those by themselves
  6. How much was the rear water housing from Toyota? Wonder if I can get the head outlet housing too
  7. Would only remove TVIS if you have some massive cams and a turbo. Otherwise no benefit. But in regards to the ECU, yes you can remove it without problems for sure
  8. 4k has been sold to a lad in CHCH a couple of months ago. Kinda wish I kept it now, twin carbies are bliss
  9. So it's been quite busy for me in the past few months. And they were not exactly trouble free months either! Firstly an overcharging alternator at the 'Hanmer Meet' which blew all my relays and destroyed my little tacho circuitry. Resulting in an unexpected weeks stay in CHCH (which turned out to be awesome, expensive... but awesome) But now we have her up and running sweet. Just need a new diff head because my one has a slightly bent pinion but that's not a biggie. She drives like a dream and has a big power increase over the ol' 4K
  10. Ooooosh. Good to get a break off work for a day to go drive with you rad lads
  11. Best part of the trip was sorting out some primo cream door cards for my KE20 (for me anyway) which I thought was quite funny considering the state of that and every car you'd think the interior would have rotted away Many treasures to be found at wilfs, was so awesome to rummage through there. there's a car somewhere under there, I never even found out what the old girl was
  12. see you ladies tomorrow, most I guess for the first time!
  13. Awesome, just got the KE back so will be good to go on a cruise
  14. After dropping a 4A-GE into my KE30, I realised there was a lot more shit to do than I first thought. Putting a beams in a KE25 will be a tight as fit. All though planting up a W57 will retain you the same shifter hole you will still need to modify the gearbox tunnel. Lots of $$$$$ required for a beams. Doing a 4A-GE on the other hand is super simple. time consuming but very simple
  15. KE will need a cert too for the 4A-GE conversion, should plan Cert Fest
  16. Do you need one? Yes i'm pretty sure you do as you'd have to put a safety hoop in too. Will anyone notice? Probably not, i'd say you'd get away with not getting one
  17. Graham aye? he's an interesting fellow that's for sure. If you guys do a cruise and the KE is going i'll definitely join!
  18. why yes, yes you did indeed!! Not to sure what went wrong, think the driveshaft caught under the floor somewhere. I was only cruzing to work so the 4A-GE wasn't giving it hell
  19. Driveshaft went bang and snapped in the KE, got away quite lucky but will be off the road for a couple weeks till it's done. next time lads, next time i promise!
  20. 4age is all go in the KE, see you guys then!
  21. 4am on Thursday morning it was.
  22. So despite the KE having problems and getting towed down to CHCH, there still wasn't anything 'bad' about what happened. Of all the people I encountered in CHCH (sparky, Glenn, guy who I bought the alternator off, guy who bought my 4K a couple of months ago) they were all really helpful and made it all an awesome experience in the end. Honestly big thanks to Glenn for bringing me down to CHCH in the Anglia and lending me his legendary glenn-mobile scooter for the few days (sorry about the kickstart, not sure why the tensioner fell off) also to the welly lads for giving it a crack to get going. Also in the end, I DIDN'T CHECK THE CONTINUITY OF THE FUEL PUMP! Alternator packed a foul, overcharged and blew up all the relays, RPM gauge, fuse in the radio, flasher relay. Fixed sort of, pump now runs continuously when ignition is on instead of off the crank sensor as sparky couldn't find why it wasn't working. Currently in process of getting the sparkys who wired up to begin with to see what happened. Awesome drive down, awesome drive up (apart from the 3 hours delay of the ferry) 10/10 will come next year. Will probably be with my KE20 too, hopefully anyway. 3SGE goodness Also, Kicker I have your yellow pliers. They will be kept safe till we next meet!
  23. See you wellingtonian lads tomorrow, much excite
  24. Down at hanmer this weekend Cool idea though
