Probably just worn brushes in the alternator, maybe a bad earth from the battery (would possibly explain getting good voltage but still a negative current from the battery)? I assume you have made sure the alternator belt is still on?

You should be able to just move that clip back a couple of notches to counter the stretch.

Probably the little clip thing on the engine bay side of the firewall where the cable comes through. If that pops off then the clutch will go out of adjustment.

As long as the warning light is off and there is oil in the motor you should be fine. High pressure => blown seals
