    IT IS NOT FROM FIFTY YEARS AGO IN MY DAY WE DIDN'T HAVE PLASTIC BOWLS LIKE IN THAT PHOTO OR PLYWOOD THE TREES WOULD HAVE BEEN MUCH BETTER MAINTAINED, PROBABLY WITH A HAND SHEAR AND IT WOULD TAKE SEVERAL HOURS TO DO A HEDGE LIKE THAT THE SECRET IS TO START AT THE BOTTOM AND WORK UP SO THAT THE LEAVES ALL MATCH THE ANGLE OF THE SUN AND THEN YOU GET A MUCH BETTER HEDGE FOR THE DRIVEWAY AND ALSO I DONT THINK THAT THE GRASS WOULD HAVE BEEN THAT YELLOW YOU NEED SOME GOOD FERTILIZER I THINK BERYL FROM BOWLS SAID THAT SEAWEED MAKES A GOOD FERTILIZER BUT YOU HAVE TO MIX IT WITH FRESH WATER IN A 44 GALLON DRUM FOR A MONTH OR SO IN THE SUN AND WAIT UNTIL IT GETS BETTER THE HEDGE ALSO SHOULD BE TOPED FLAT ACROSS THE TOP WHICH CAN BE QUITE A CHORE BUT IF YOU PUT SOME BIGGER WHEELS ON THE IRON HOURSE AND THEN CAREFULLY LOWER IT DOWN FROM THE SCAFFOLDS YOU CAN GET A GOOD RESULT BUT OF COURSE YOU NEED A SCAFFOLD TO DO THAT AND I DONT SEE ANY IN THAT PICTURE SO IT PROBABLY ISNT 50 YEARS OLD AND ALSO THE NUMBER PLATE WOULDNT LOOK SO WORN OUT BUT YOU CAN FIX THAT WITH SOME NUGGET AND A LITTLE BIT OF ELBOW GREASE I KEEP MINE IN THE SHED BYTHE JARS AND THE HEDGE LEVEL PLUM BOB DID I MENTION THAT YOU NEED A PLUMB BOB TO DO THE HEDGE IF YOU WANT IT TO LOOK UNIFORM BECAUSE YOU NEED TO USE A PLUMB BOB IF YOU WANT THE SIDES TO ALL MATCH THE SECRET IS TO START AT THE BOTTOM AND WORK UP SO THAT ALL THE LEAVES MATCH THE ANGLE OF THE SUN AND YOU GET A MUCH BETTER HEDGE FOR THE DRIVEWAY

    Moped registration question

    Drivesure Vehicle Testing manukau is the best.

    No lines, they help you fill in the form. I did two at once.

    Also, because it's a bit weird to have sequenced number plates, I went down to Manukau AA and got one also.

    All within the last month or so.

    Inland Kaikoura route still has a very large proportion of kms on SH1, and overall wouldn't be that interesting on small bikes imo.

    There's no other back roads route that I know of. Most of the Nelson Lakes National Park is walking tracks only. Motorcycles and vehicles are specifically banned.

    So the question is, are we tied to starting in Hanmer? Noting Rainbow is then our only option.

    Us fullas (covid permitting) coming from Auckland liked the idea of starting from somewhere we could ride to after flying in.

    We had a friendly depot in ChCh so we could ship bikes ahead of time.

    ASSume there will still be vehicles coming from ChCh so we could travel to starting point with them if we can get enough seats that will be ace.

    Pretty sure it will be @Tumeke @sentra @slacker.cam @peteretep

    If not all good - we can look into other flights/shipping options if the start point changes to see if that's possible / affordable / not stink providing we get enough notice to book stuff.

    Preliminary only. May be two days. TBH IRL CBF wing it etc

    RED: Day 1 - Manukau, Waiuku, Manukau Heads, Puke, Hunua Ranges. About 180km

    BLUE: Hunua, Port Waikato and hide in forest.

    YELLOW: Port Waikato round the coast back to start. Route may change, will check borders.

    All to be self sufficient. BYO canvas / food and understand that camping is probably not permitted.

    Allegedly you can ride from Mangatawhiri to Clevedon if you climb some fences and don't get caught.
