  1. so yea got motivated over the last week and a bit and got some work done on my wagon. after looking closer at the engine the frost plugs where looking a bit on the sad side so smashed them out and replaced them today. here are some pictures this is the back one middle one and the front one wasnt far from buggered as well after pulling them out and putting my finger in the moist hole........ i came across these goods floating around in side so i gave the engine a good flush out and hopefully i got rid of most of the crap that was floating around the engine. and now the new frost plugs are in. think i need to put some grease on them, they are to clean. also sent a snap chat to some of my mates for a joke, looked like this (sorry older people who dont know what a snap chat is) found out a guy in nelson slapped a snail on his so il have to ask some more questions about it other than that now time to start steeling parts of my green sedan and order all my brake parts
  2. sorry dude not martyn road. think it was linton cres. :/
  3. so today i did a bit of re arranging in my garage and thought id do some work on this wagon try get the ball rolling. the goal is to have it on the road by Christmas. christmas this year that is!!!! so 1st things 1st there was this ugly looking frost plug rotting away. this is the lovely looking frost plug so smashed that out to find we couldnt get the measuring tool (cant spell what they are called) in there so went and smacked one out of a engine i have out the back. getting a mate to sus 3 of them out for me. then decided to go have a look at the goods i had brought with my 3rd valiant and see what i can use on this beautiful wagon. IT WAS LIKE CHRISTMAS!!!!! had all these things nicely wrapped up like a pot luck or something didnt know what was going to be in there. but we did find all this. so some things i have to paint but the most of things i wanted for the wagon are painted already so a few extra things i will need to make my car stop and look good. will start the shopping list on hemiperformance this week see what things are going to cost in aus and compare them to nz. also will need to steel some things of my green sedan which isnt a big issue as its getting the new engine. so intake manifold, carburetor and the exhaust will get pinched of that so it will run as i know those parts already work on the sedan. also this is my garage situation now think thats it for now.
  4. so yea nothing much been happening drove my valiant once or twice since the road trip. been busy working doing upholstery like always. finally finished my mates 38 ford coupe and he is going to build my engine for me. so today i went for a drive with a boat anchor in my boot of my c rolla so now i need to find all the extra peaces laying around my garage to complete the engine. also the green sedan will be losing parts to the wagon so i can try get that on the road feeling excited about the new engine getting closer!!!!
  5. wow we are both screwed in the head. corolla wagons and valiant wagons!!!!! message me if you need a hand assembling it. actually come work on mine so it gives you motivation to work on yours. great plan i think also i do think this guy needs to make a thread. ( if he has can some one tell me )
  6. Geez your slow mrwest. Next time your over il take you out have a rum with him have a closer look at it.
  7. so yea..... my mum has gone to the uk for 5 weeks and said while she was away not to buy any cars, boats or bikes while she is away.... so yea like been a little child and not listening to mum as per usual and doing the total opposite i kind of brought myself another valiant..... so me and miniman76 with a couple of mates went for a drive to auckland to pick up a min shell miniman76 had brought and the valiant i had brought. my 1st intentions where to grab the good parts for the wagon and cut the rest up for they day some decides to crash into my sedan and what not but on inspection it looks a bit to good for this. it came in a million and one peaces, meaning 3 cars worth of parts spreed out under this guys house and one de regd sell on a rotisserie. some of the doors will be cut up and used on my wagon doors or just swapped over just wait and see what the go is. here are some pictures of the car and what not notice the doors stacked in the engine bay, all seats in the front, two boots in the back seat and more doors and guards in the boot..... we made all this fit in the van as well as the ute. (note there are already 3 gear boxes under the mini in the tray of the ute) and this is how the van looked i have to go back up later this month so i will pick the two front and two rear windows up then. if you know of any one looking for ap5/6/vc parts i might have a few spear laying around i may be willing to sell cover my silly purchase. thats it for now i think. ohhh so yea my mum doesnt know about it still as im hiding it in my work shop for the next 5months or so, so she doesnt kill me. haha
  8. Quick or I will update it with my purchase of parts for your car.
  9. so nothing new on the valiant other than went for a random ass road trip to palmy north and back. stopped in at taupo to catch a ride with miniman76 in his race car. what a thrill!!! so after putting a new axle in the mini i thought i better give the valiant an oil change since it was well over due. out to the pits and jacked it up and a quick oil change was done the valiant sounds so much nicer for the oil change. also had a huge amount of guard rub on my right side so managed to borrow a HUGE bar from a socket set and threw 3 people in the back and a quick roll forwards and back and wabam we had heaps of clearance!!! we had maybe 5 more scrapes the hole trip. success motored down to palmy got on the turps a bit and watched che che and chong. next morning was all go, 1st stop was this beautiful picture with the havilland vampire next stop was another plane picture with the DC3 3rd stop was with the bloody gumboot 4th stop was at the army base and had to get a photo of the valitank next to a tank. (p.s i cant park while trying to drink a energy drink) 5th stop was at the bloody carrot 6th stop was the snow. check out our ugly mutts out. haha. got to go play in the snow though. 7th stop was at horopito motors for a quick look and a check to see why i was losing my brake peddle :/ and there we have it. 1000kms latter. about $300 worth of gas. one dead sparrow stuck in my grill (we named him fred) and my brakes disappearing we have our self a wicked road trip. list of things to do is get a rego and find out where my brake peddle was disappearing to..... hope you enjoy
  10. nothing has happened on this just taken some more photos and been searching the net for parts like a tail gate and window. along with few other random peaces. oh also im the 3rd owner of this ap5 valiant along with my sedan ap5. this one was brought in Australia and imported with them when they came to NZ. It was then sold 18 years ago to the guy i brought it off who then started to pull it apart about 12 months ago thought it was to much work for him and he brought another valiant and then he needed to sell it. TO ME if any one on here knows of ap5/6/vc safari parts be helpful to know as some hard parts to find. thanks heaps
  11. Yea I will probably end up just slamming it out and widening the steelies and roll it as it is. I'd rather put my money into my sedan and get the other engine in that. And thanks for that I will have a look at Craig vane tonight see what will make my life easier. The wagon you saw when you 1st got to aus sounds amazing. Sound have brought it!!
  12. Haha why thand you. Hey Matt It got dark before I could get a good photo so il get one tonight for you. Also it has been my dream to own a wagon and sedan ap5 I've finally got it. Don't know to paint it green and white to suite my sedan as well. Maybe one day I will
  13. make chit chat about my wags here hopefully i will have some updates on it sooner than latter
  14. the plans for the wagon is do as little as possible and get it on the road sooner better than latter. will eventually slam it out and use it for my tow wagon/daily. my mate wants me to bag it and put a modern hemi v8 in it maybe out of a 300c or somthing. they are becoming rarer and rarer and i was close to buying one in aus and sending it back here but lucky came across this that would be true i need to make a move on them now that its a tight squeeze in the shed now haha
  15. so i managed to find myself two weeks ago checking my messages from a mate to find him sending me a trade me link of an ap5 safari in wanaka. about 3 phone calls later and yup it was mine. he got it running for me so i wouldnt have to pay moon beams in freight so a week goes buy and on the transporter it goes. few more days and WABAM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! its now in my garage. along side of my sedan!!! 1st things 1st here are some pictures of it so i think the foot brake doesnt work but the hand brake is very good under the hood is a bit of a mess there is also a bit of bog in the tail gate the spear wheel well had a bit of rust as well and some rust else where and yeah my mum and partner didnt think i would fit them both in the garage. it was a tight fit but they are in there and i cant get to my room or up stairs any more haha my bad thats it for now im sure il find more and il see you on the chit chat side of this latter
  16. thanks heaps for the entry man. next year il have two cars to take over think il trailer the sedan over to save on gas...... il make a start on your seats next month as well they might need to hurry up and move out of my garage haha
  17. so i made it to beach hop and event got to enter as a 64 two door soft top impala thanks to MR WEST for not finishing his imp. i got a few snaps of the car loaded up with people about to go for a cruise and i really need to roll my back left hand side guard a bit as i scrap 6 up. here is a photo of minimans 76 mini with no bonnet and with mine up at beach hop. his was over heating like crazy and mine decided it didnt want to start....... oh i also done the hole coke and tin foil trick on my bumpers a night before i left for beach hop. WOW it works a bloody treat!!! before after my new muffler sounds amazing i will get a video of it when im next out and about in it. i also have purchased a new vehicle. it arrives this week. so keep an eye out for the build thread of that.
  18. I'm very excited as well about these carbs. I have a swap job on the go to go with completeting my engine which is a huge bonus but the hole engine swap might have a little delay on it now as I may have purchased another ap5 valiant. But hey they are getting closer so that's the main thing
  19. so yeah beach hop is around the corner so i thought ild get a few things fixed and what not so i thought il replace my exhaust by putting a straight pipe in HAHAHAHAHAHA that was extremely loud!! this is my old one so yup brought a muffler and got my mate to weld that in. this is what the inside of that looks like. it now sounds a hell of a lot better and seems to go a little better to. while i had my globs on i also got my other rims painted and polished them all up make them look spiffy. here is basically a before and after also i cleaned the white writing with some jiff and water. here is the difference in them i also dropped my head off to my mate to assemble. which he showed me my triple carbs with new linkages made up and working just minus one clip so i found on of them and shot back next day to find my head assembled and him waiting on my for my block. here is a photo of the head and carbs i think thats it for now. il be at beach hop from Wednesday onward. if u see me around come say hi.
  20. il be there from Wednesday in the ap5 valiant. staying with me is miniman76 in his mini. will also have Evan (nicknamed bevan) with us along side a few tag alongs. staying in linton cres. stop in say hi if u see the valiant or come say hi if you see us around in the green machines.
  21. yup they are 15x8 with a 235 50 on them. my 14x7 have 235 50s on them as well
  22. so i finally got around to putting mu globes on the valiant. whats every ones thoughts on them? myself they are growing on me. need a smaller profile tyre and its also made the car a lot heavier to steer now as well. i had to use a hammer to beat this a part of my inner guard so i didn't completely wreck my tyres but they deferentially fill the guards up been an inch wider.
  23. so i finally got my seat all back together and in the car on Friday night just in time to chuck every one in it to go get some goneburger. it looks like a complete car now and feels very comfy. i sit about 2 inches higher now that i replaced the spring protector. here is a photo of it any way. a bit of heat and some massaging and the wrinkles will disappear. but for now there is no more rips!!! dont know whats on the next to do list but im sure il find something online to buy
