  3. I moved to Australia a few months ago and have finally decided I Needed a daily driver. I was really after a Datsun 1200 ute but they seem to be crazy money over here. Ive owned a few old corollas over the years, ke20s and 30s. (My last one was stolen in Christchurch) So started looking for another one over here, as they are pretty cheap as they are "old". This one popped up on gumtree so went and had a look at it. It's actually a ke55 but is basically the same as a ke30, minus a few changes, bumpers, interior etc. It was owned by the owner for last 23 years so was in pretty good condition. Has a factory 4k and 5 speed. All I've done so far is change the rear end bumper and lights to ke30, replaced the water pump and serviced everything. Diff, gearbox and engine. Found some cheap 14x8 and 14x7.5 SSR longchamps so tidied them up and tried them on. Got some 196/45r14 falkens on their way to me now.
  4. Cheers. Yea I might just get the ones on eBay I guess. Need to find some reasonably priced forged Pistons as well. But goes good as it is at the moment so I will focus on the suspension and brakes next.
  5. Visiting NZ for the week so got to drive the datsun again, will try post some bigger photos as well. Heres some videos for anyone interested. The white sedan is running a SR20det
  6. Cheers guys. Haha yea it's something different and still goes like a cut cat. Twin charge might over complicate things but would Definately sound the part. Has anyone had experience with those H beam conrods on eBay, that seem to be rediculously cheap? $330 a set
  7. A video of when i first got it running, so still untuned. excuse the quality

  9. Been on here for years so thought id better make my own thread. Its a Datsun 1200 coupe. Its been through many changes but finally got it pretty much how i want, minus a few small exceptions. Its running a rebuilt A15+T. The turbo is a small garrrett blowing through twin dellorto sidedrafts. Currently running at 9PSI via a Tial external wastegate. Wheels are 13x7 and 13x7.5 SSR Starsharks wrapped in 175/50r13 Yokohamas. The only other plans at this stage are some adjustable coilovers for the front, S13 brake conversion and getthing the front rims widened to 13x8 and moving them to the rear, then putting the rear rims on the front.
  10. Awesome! +1 for an LS engine. But agree 100% leaving the body as is
  11. There is Nothing better than a standard car dumped on nice wheels! Well done ,perfect
  12. Just flipped a leaf and 2 inch blocks buzzy. It's about 90 mm from the ground to sill at the back and 100mm at front. Cut bump stops etc. I need some adjustables for the front to even it out. Wheels are 13x7 and 13x7.5 starsharks. Yours looks like a tidy original wee car mr dori
  13. Most people grind that caliper piece back because 90% of aftermarket mags dont fit without spacers. Or you could do the S13 brake upgrade. Heres mine on 13s, I agree you do need them pretty low though to suit 13s though. (Sorry Dont mean to highjack your thread with photos)
  14. hey sweet wag and wheels. curious to know the price to get your wheels widened? if you don't mind me asking. looking at getting some done
  15. I would be checking for air leaks. blown manifold gaskets are common on k series. spray some engine start/brake clean around manifold and see if idle speed changes. (some people prefer to use water, I dont)
  16. Hey looking good. I've got some 13x9s on my coupe, just wondering if you ever ended up finding a tyre to fit? And where from?
  17. +1 for tubes, always hated the idea of running tubes in my wheels but getting flat tyres every few weeks gets old fast. Glad I have tubes now.
  18. Definately 195/45s. T1rs are sweet and a great tire but are expensive. I ended upgetting some 195/45 falkens for around 130 each.
