  1. Is there anyone located in New Plymouth who can pick up a trademe purchase for me? Two Austin 1300 bumpers, bunch of chrome trim, steering wheel and two inner dash panels. So not huge just long. I then need to get them to Auckland / hold them until I can pick up. Cash or beers provided. Thanks! GWA.
  2. Car had a busy few weeks at the end of last year. Ferrying photographers and models around the city, being used on a film set, road trip up north... Some pictures of that. Didn't use it for a couple of months while I was out of the city. Came back last week and it was WOF time. Noticed this at the inspection... Oops. And the other side had a small amount of play. So put new wheel bearings in, adjusted the top ball joints (took a shim out) and thought it would be sweet. Here's Dad giving a hand, repurposing my old seat. Untitled by GuyWithAviators, on Flickr Untitled by GuyWithAviators, on Flickr Went for a drive around the block and checked it when I came back... But the castle nut pin was sheared off and the nut loose on the thread, meaning the same amount of play. Shit. Turns out the drive shaft and flange spline was too worn and it was never going to be usable. Overnight parts from Christchurch from my pile of spares sorted that. Didn't take pictures because I was rushing to put the parts in before the WOF shop closed. It closed at 6pm and I got there at 6:15pm - the guy was still there and was a GC, we yarned about my car and his 1920s Austin for ages. Untitled by GuyWithAviators, on Flickr So that's all sorted! Won't be using it much as the engine has low oil pressure and needs a crank grind + new bearings. But good to have it back on the road. IMG_9583 by GuyWithAviators, on Flickr Taken tonight.
  3. Echoing the above, sounds like selectors or clutch. I'm also based in Auckland and am happy to come have a look. I'd strongly advise getting a Haynes manual from trademe, they're the best thing you can do for yourself to learn haha.
  4. Unfortunately not, busy in the evening. Going for the WOF tomorrow morning though!
  5. Nice work guys. Once I get a WOF we need to go for a drive! Do it! Ado16 by GuyWithAviators, on Flickr
  6. Engine crane also works. IMG_0193 by GuyWithAviators, on Flickr IMG_8958 by GuyWithAviators, on Flickr Good luck with it all though, I know how much you love BMC stuff.
  7. Have you seen the three cars under ripped tarps on a drive way half way up Pakuranga Road? The one closest to the road looks to be a Vanden Plas Badged SDI. They've been there a long time, might be worth checking out.
  8. And some more. Feel free to click through to my Flickr for the full size pictures! 10. $50 if you must have it through TradeMe. Or PM me here and it's $10 incl shipping.
  11. Yes GoPros! Would be cool to collaborate all the footage from the day into one edit. I've got a new suction cup mount to experiment with.
  12. Can do. Do you need the chrome surround or just the lens?
  13. That's cool man! Much better than mine Untitled by GuyWithAviators, on Flickr How far away from being back on the road are you guys?
  14. Look forward to seeing the new parts on! If you want to get rid of your old front guard I'm after one, only half of mine is there, not ideal for commuting in the rain!
  15. Nice one! Good colour Following.
  16. They look fine to me. But if you were to replace them definitely get them from the man above^. I did, fast shipping and OS member deals
  17. Those are wicked. No doubt you've seen QCRs V50s from Christchurch. I used to live there, rode with them a couple of times. Such awesome chops. Sadly I lack the fabrication skill and need to use this every day to get to uni.
  18. Thanks for the kind words! Loving your C50 build! I wish there was the same support for aftermarket components for these Yamahas
  19. Continuing to daily the shit out of this. Travel 30ish kms every day through traffic, love it. Wish it had a bit more up and go to pass easier. Carb needs some attention, when the tank is almost empty is runs great up to 65kph but when above that bogs down and tops out at 50. Along with commuting I've been taking it adventuring where I'm not supposed to. IMG_9247 by GuyWithAviators, on Flickr And I also did the Auckland DGR Ride recently. Smallest and slowest bike there but well received I think. 11221507_1630629477211385_1463282065375315090_o by GuyWithAviators, on Flickr 12091277_1630629510544715_8791873201142119854_o by GuyWithAviators, on Flickr
