  1. Gas shocks have oil in them too.
  2. If you push down on them and are not hard to push or they move fast, they are bad. If they are not extending back up by themselves, they are bad.

  4. Frontal impact is from 1999, but I would fail due to 1. a) https://vehicleinspection.nzta.govt.nz/virms/in-service-wof-and-cof/general/vehicle-structure/structure-incl2.-frontal-impact
  5. Glazing markings do not have to be the same. Only needs markings on windscreens and flat glass. https://vehicleinspection.nzta.govt.nz/virms/in-service-wof-and-cof/general/vision/glazing#tab1
  6. @igormortis have a look here. Especially the last few pages.
  7. I can’t make it tonight. Someone give Beaver a bum squeeze for me.
  8. https://vehicleinspection.nzta.govt.nz/virms/in-service-wof-and-cof/general/vehicle-identification/vin-and-chassis-number no mention of needing a number plate. Just needs a VIN or chassis number. The number plate is needed to enter the wof online, but that can be found using the vin. why are you getting a wof with no number plates fitted?
  9. WOF wise, any where as long as the rear has lights. Police wise… who knows. In fact, you don’t need a number plate for a wof.
  10. Oh hi. I am a wof inspector. Here is my interpretation. 1) if a rotor face is rusty, and the braking performance passes I would not fail, but others at my workplace would. My personal opinion outside of the virm is get some new rotors or at least get the old ones skimmed as brakes are important. 2) mazda 3 rear bump stop above the arm, if it looks fucked, fail, replace it. 3) any play in a driveshaft spline is a big fat fail. edit: see the definition of corrosion in the notes… https://vehicleinspection.nzta.govt.nz/virms/in-service-wof-and-cof/general/brakes/service-brake-and-parking-brake#note2 pitting in the rotors should be a fail. Light rust should knock off with some heavy braking.
  11. You might need some camber correction arms for the rear as well. keep up the good work.
  12. They will only be able to tell you if there is a current recall. The Takata recalls have been going on for years now and are dependant on supply. When I was at Toyota a couple years ago there were some cars that we had replaced the airbag inflator two or three times because they were supplying the old style initially, because a new old style was safer than waiting for the new style.
  13. HQ is actually 5x120.65 / 5x 4.75” That extra 0.65 is enough to snap your wheel studs.
  14. I love the idea of a Toyota Hemi in this old camper, but if we are talking chassis swaps, you’d be better off getting a modernish diesel Hilux or similar and putting your body on top.
  15. Nope. Just rack boots.
  16. So you have a cert passed already? you unbolted a factory fitted seatbelt and installed what exactly in its place? what kind of car?
  17. @cletus can you confirm?
  18. That looks minor. If it is failed the inspector should give you a Structural Repair Sheet that you can take to a panel beater for them to sign of that it is sweet as mate.
  19. Choice. Thanks for the reminder.
  20. Yaris might be more aerodynamic than a 69 Camaro.
  21. @Not-a-number Looking good man. Is the A/C gassed up? I do wonder about those hose clips holding.
  22. Should be sweet as. Previous shape Hilux towbars were the same for 2WD and 4WD, just had the tongue flipped.
