  1. I would get those fixed before you go back to ask about the rust.
  2. Ask the inspector to show you what he based his fail on in the virm. You could also ask a panel beater to write something saying it is non structural. Did you fail on anything else?
  3. @SunnyCoupe I would pass that. Non structural and not likely to come off or cause an injury to a pedestrian.
  4. Are you aware some 2GRs have direct and port injection? Perhaps this could be adapted to your 4GR. Supercharger kits are also popular on the 2GR
  5. His car is a wagon, not a van. Wagon is a passenger vehicle and cannot have stickers, except for within 100mm of the edge. FAIL
  6. “first registered or manufactured“ So 1989 or older don’t need a high stop even if they are recent imports.
  7. It could be considered c) altered, or d) defaced, or e) obscured, End of the day it’s up to the inspector’s discretion. I would give it a lick of paint stripper to remove any doubt.
  8. According to the VIRM, it is a fail https://vehicleinspection.nzta.govt.nz/virms/in-service-wof-and-cof/general/vehicle-identification/vin-and-chassis-number ”Condition”

  11. You are looking at “Reasons for rejection” so it will fail if the light is not any of those. /plate lights must be white.
  12. If you push down on them and are not hard to push or they move fast, they are bad. If they are not extending back up by themselves, they are bad.

  14. Frontal impact is from 1999, but I would fail due to 1. a) https://vehicleinspection.nzta.govt.nz/virms/in-service-wof-and-cof/general/vehicle-structure/structure-incl2.-frontal-impact
  15. Glazing markings do not have to be the same. Only needs markings on windscreens and flat glass. https://vehicleinspection.nzta.govt.nz/virms/in-service-wof-and-cof/general/vision/glazing#tab1
  16. @igormortis have a look here. Especially the last few pages.
  17. I can’t make it tonight. Someone give Beaver a bum squeeze for me.
  18. https://vehicleinspection.nzta.govt.nz/virms/in-service-wof-and-cof/general/vehicle-identification/vin-and-chassis-number no mention of needing a number plate. Just needs a VIN or chassis number. The number plate is needed to enter the wof online, but that can be found using the vin. why are you getting a wof with no number plates fitted?
  19. WOF wise, any where as long as the rear has lights. Police wise… who knows. In fact, you don’t need a number plate for a wof.
  20. Oh hi. I am a wof inspector. Here is my interpretation. 1) if a rotor face is rusty, and the braking performance passes I would not fail, but others at my workplace would. My personal opinion outside of the virm is get some new rotors or at least get the old ones skimmed as brakes are important. 2) mazda 3 rear bump stop above the arm, if it looks fucked, fail, replace it. 3) any play in a driveshaft spline is a big fat fail. edit: see the definition of corrosion in the notes… https://vehicleinspection.nzta.govt.nz/virms/in-service-wof-and-cof/general/brakes/service-brake-and-parking-brake#note2 pitting in the rotors should be a fail. Light rust should knock off with some heavy braking.
  21. You might need some camber correction arms for the rear as well. keep up the good work.
