  1. Still ticking over with this I did clean this rust up and give it a paint before covering it up. Ordered a tool shed power file to finish off the welds. Waiting for that to arrive.
  2. Oh, that makes sense. Do this.
  3. Can you take a pic? What is the engine? Is it inside the rocker cover? It may be something to stop oil going out the PCV valve. Don’t jam anything in there until you confirm what it is.
  4. Transporting a full sheet may be an issue.
  5. Anyone have suggestions on where to get cold roll sheet metal in Welly by the part sheet? @Nominal ?
  6. Sounds like you need to go for a stroll around pick a part, when the world is unlocked.
  7. Will do, Spencer. I think I will need to for the outer door skin. I will struggle to fold the edge over straight on this stuff. Might need to find someone with a bender too.
  8. Cheers Hayhole. I watched a few you tube vids to get some pointers. I found this guy pretty good https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC6JPmJ_aicru8XPWr3EvJnw
  9. If it is backfiring and not starting I would guess you have the timing wrong. What state are the spark plug leads in?
  10. Yep. Do what you want if it has its own switch. https://vehicleinspection.nzta.govt.nz/virms/in-service-wof-and-cof/general/lighting/cosmetic-lamps
  11. I have one of those. I haven’t done a huge amount of work with it yet, but is going well with 1.1mm panel steel. I did have to fix a gas leak where it goes into the machine though.
  12. Yep, this stuff is hard to bend without a bender. Can’t get anything else for a while so persevered with what I had. It’s a start anyway and is keeping me busy.
  13. You also want to get the air out by tapping or vibration. Or pop down to mitre 10 and buy one that’s ready made https://www.mitre10.co.nz/shop/firth-grey-block-190-x-290-x-190mm/p/431438
  14. I have half a sheet of 1.1mm zinc coated stuff. So cut it out as one piece, replicate out of multiple pieces then weld one completed piece in? Right. Off to you tube for some lessons. Thanks again.
  15. Don’t really know where to start with this
  16. Thanks @Spencer @Nominal outside is not too bad Front lower inner is
  17. Sweet. I will take the paint off along the bottom of the outside and have a look.
  18. I have seen that site while ago when searching (dreaming) for a replacement tailgate. Bottom of the rear side windows is a bit scabby.
  19. Plan was to paint the repairs as I go, but not too worried about colour matching. I was just going to find a rattle can that is close enough. Definitely keen to keep it on the road, but in saying that I only use it a couple of times a year lately. Not keen to strip to whole car and for it to become one of those garage ornaments covered in boxes.
  20. Question is, how far do I keep digging? I don’t plan on stripping the whole thing. The darker bog is hard and has a layer of green paint. Let me know: https://oldschool.co.nz/index.php?/topic/33837-alltorques-1970-buick-sportwagon/&page=10
