  1. yeah we going down on the Wed till Sunday got a pad on the beach front with a group of us and a heap of old cars so should be good. To bad the 64 wont be going but hey next year!
  2. Great success 232/234 kelford cam is in and new valve springs also. Gave her a fire up last night and all went to plan! Ready for a clean up and paint/ready to go in car!
  3. mercedes has a similar colour was where i first saw it then seen a heap of territorys with it! That colour stands out without being in yoru face if it makes sense?
  4. yeah its like a bronze/brown colour i guess haha...so many options. I do know one thing i dont want a bright yellow, oragne, pink etc etc dont want that in your face! Cheers for the comments guys, glad to finally be making some progress and see things eventuating!
  5. Forgot pic of rims that have been sandblasted and painted in metallic silver looks chhoiccceee. Went from this: To this: Great suceess!! We have a problem though, Drove it half an hour for the first time to the olds. Got warm by the time i got there. Pulled it apart engine and radiator full of crud flushed them out with hose. The drivebelt was toast too so may explain my generator light being on. Pulled pump off and its a bit notchy so sorted another one, oh and foudn it had no thermostat. So bought a pump, thermostat and they had no belt. So chucked a pump in and it got hot in the drive within not long. Also when i started for a second in the drive it had fumes/gas/smoke coming out of the thermostat housing area instantly ?? could this be a headgasket potentially? Radiator didnt get hot on the bottom hose in the drive so must be blocked. Will get that recored or replaced, chuck the new pump and thermostat on with a new belt and see how we go. Let me know your thoughts about my cooling problem, Excellent http://oldschool.co....rwest-bmc-1300/ to tell me about my cooling woes...
  6. Lots happening over here. Cars getting close to panelbeating being completed ready for paint Have had a new thought on a colour, Seen a few of these roll past and for some reason colour has jumped out at me. Think black interior, black roof and chrome trim/bumpers etc. http://www.trademe.co.nz/motors/used-cars/ford/auction-693385234.htm Thoughts?? Have got the LS1 one to go, after a bit of dicking around, a small fire, a smashed spark plug and flat batterys the planets alinged and she fired into life! Such a good moment!! So finally getting closer to the light at the end of the tunnel. Engine is getting pulled apart over the next week or 2 (once the tools i need turn up) to do the cam and valve springs, waterpump, gaskets and seals then paint to be ready for the engine. Talk about paint, engine, car and bitches! Talk! http://oldschool.co....la/?hl=westpala

  10. if you need to provide a ps4 they will state it in the building ocnsent. if its not in there then no need for it.
  11. big negative on that one... Panelbeater didnt work on it over xmas hols and has been away a shit load in the year already....however hes back on deck now and hoping for a couple of weeks to finish things up and get it ready for paint. Going to trrrryyy and get it home by easter as heaps of days off over that period to make good progress but will see how we get on. hows the datto coming along?
  12. will grab one when we chuck on the hoist ! cheers
  13. Mates got a MK2 Cortina with a 1600 in it, also has been converted from auto to 4 speed manual. Its runnign a floor shift box which we are told might be a GTE box?? Does that sound right? As the other models were column shift manual?? Anyways the gearbox mount is rangi home made from the last owner and failed a wof. Surely there must be a factory xmember that would work with little to no mods. Anyone know of anything that would work or what the go with these old things are??
  14. Seat frames/springs have all been sandblasted and primed Bit rusty before hand Ready to get sprayed then go to 64valiant for fitting the new upholstery and some new padding etc. Talk! http://oldschool.co....la/?hl=westpala
  15. So have been bevering away at this in the spare moments. Have had it on the hoist and checked it over, essentially no major rust under the car has never had a patch in its life by the looks!! Benefit of being in a shed its whole life i guess. Underside was pretty filthy and surface rustyish so stripped it but was nothing major thankfully, couple of coats of underseal and its good to go. Have got new tyres coming so am getting the rims sandblasted and painted before they go on, Getting closer to a wof now! List of shit left to do: -New tyres/paint rims -Wire up fuel pump properly -Refit exhaust -Road test -Pump up suspension Then its good to go! http://oldschool.co....rwest-bmc-1300/ to talk smack! Few pics for you ! Mid strip Finished product How it sits at the moment!
  16. nice work man looking sharp! Looking forward to seeing the 64 done!! Sandblaster rung today and seat frames have been blasted and painted and upholstery should be on the water enroute to the land of the long white cloud!
  17. old boy who did my floor said one every 600 with a brace peg as well although that was for 300high boxing..a.nd hes a pedantic old dude haha sucks when floors not straight and your shed wall all wonky so better to over do than under!
  18. Wait wut? That grey one was your matty b one?? Random i didnt click to that on FB.... Must get more low and wheels then lol PS my plugs are here, your a legend .
  19. So fitted up the engine into a spare chassis i had to test start it. Bit of rigged up wiring and fuel pump and we were away! Then took the engine and 700R4 to the car and test fit to make sure the mounts worked, work out the mount spacers required and check the trans cleared the tunnel. All fit bloody good so im happy with that. Got some headers from the states from a LS1 S10 Chev truck conversion. $200USD compared to the Impala conversion ones for $600USD. Cleared steering and everything so that was a good score! http://oldschool.co....la/?hl=westpala Talk away!
  20. summitracing.com probably cheapest unless there some good deals in nz
  21. that they do, so stoked have got the german on it, cant speak much english but he knows his shit!
  22. Well things have been progressing along reasonably well....All taking longer than expected but i guess thats to be expected with projects like this!! Panelbeater has been working away getting things closer to being ready for paint. Has had to hand make a heap of pieces luckily hes incredibly talented and its looking real good. Rear tubs and rear quarters have taken a bit of time and modification as you can only buy 2 door coupe guards & tubs which are slightly different to convertible ones. Hes had to modify these to suit which takes a bit of time! Basically all the bits I need to finish the car are here now or on the way from the states. Massive thanks to 64valiant for coming over and stripping the old seat coverings off my seats to make way for the new ones from the states. Need to get the frames sandblasted and a few springs repaired but thankfully they are in not to bad nick considering their age. Couple of pics of the panelbeating and interior. And a mountain of bog on the original rear quarters!! http://oldschool.co....la/?hl=westpala Talk away!
  23. this........ going to rig something in my shed , iv got a slight incline in front of shed, pushing a non going 4wd subaru up a gravel ramp into the shed and onto the hoist is not winning/easy.....
  24. could be a goer if im not fishing or back at work lol
