  1. Hey just bought myself a 2000 range rover for towing duties as the air suspension is notoriously unreliable I've ditched it for coils. The ride now is not harsh but firm would this be calmed down by a set of new shocks? I'm guessing that airbags run different valving in the shocks. Kinda considering going air shocks in rear too to level it up 2 steps forward 1 back I know but on some level it does make sense.
  2. I tracked down my old 924 recently. ...... just realized I really miss it porsches get into your blood ahem just like triumphs.
  3. Have done a 1uzfe in mk1 I had many moons ago. Wasn't worth it if anything I'd ditch the heater slip a late 2 liter trumpy into the now vacated heater area and use the space at front of engine for a blower or turbo.
  4. Needs a engine to heat it really a 4k or similar could use exhaust for sweet carbon monoxide bubbles.
  5. Noted but fitting a mechanical fan although being suited better there just isn't room. I'm hoping I can get fans on engine side of radiator but that's quite a tight fit as it is. I do intend to run a shroud so air gets pulled over whole core instead of the area right in front of fans.
  6. Might just get original cleaned and tanks altered to see how it goes. Triumph motor only over heated once from a jammed thermostat. And 2 big electric fans will be going on too whatever I do.
  7. Yup it would half the reason I went for the holden engine is I drove a stag with a dirty old 253 in it years ago. went great handled well but ran an original radiator and it cooked if it wasn't moving. That car probably had a blocked radiator though. Stag and mark 2 are so so similar every bolts in same place just nose is a bit shorter.
  8. Are alloy ones any good? Fenix is just up road from work and do a few that would fit shiny is nice but needs to work too.
  9. After buying the injected holden v8 to drop in my triumph I got the radiator from the donor as well at 750mm wide no way in hell will it fit. Basically the triumph rad is the biggest I can fit between chassis rails.however the original I have is in excellent condition if I get the outlets changed to suit would it cool the v8 with a good shroud and decent fans?
  10. Awesome I had a civic same shape in early 2000's when I was into v8s was my run around till I blew the auto box. 1 thing lead to another and before long it had a huge lumpy set of cams 4500rpm stall converter savage shift kit in the auto a twin exhaust nicked from an hsv. Fuck it was rapid
  11. Feckin awesome been trying to get a hq sump which has been surprisingly dead end till I did a search today. 250$ brand new with pickup and gaskets from oz to my door. Yus suits me fine 2 weeks till I can drop in oh well new is better than old and scraped to shit.
  12. Quaife is $1600 and datsun axles are pretty well proven not to break in a triumph. Though am considering a skyline ass end so I get disc brakes.
  13. So the old girl is gutted in the engine bay new engine has been stripped of unnecessary brackets and wiring. Oooh and scored a set of genie tri Y's which tuck right up to block on drivers side passengers side will need some fettling or a notch out of passengers footwell. Things going well will pick up the hq sump this week and sling the v8 in this weekend. Trolden holdumph either way it's 5 litres 220kw of goodness.
  14. Excited as hell now spent afternoon measuring everything and it's going to fit and fill engine bay up right to the top going to look awesome. Bonnet may not clear it's going to depend very much on the sump and how low I can get the mounts I reckon a scoop will look choice anyway. With a Bogan motor under bonnet I'm looking for some time 14" tridents for it needs at least a 235 all round.
  15. New engine is home has been cleaned and getting prepped to drop in shit its a big unit but surprising enough there is plenty of clearance in the right places. Steering will need a fancy exhaust manifold or a set of headers may squeeze in annoyingly it would be easier to swap manifolds left to right and run it all from front..... trying to convince myself again adding turbos is not the best path here to simplify the pipework.
  16. How close are you to other properties? if one of your neighbours has a fault in their wiring you could potentially be the fault path when you put your hand on the Drill (thats if its earthed) either way drill sounds dodge dont use it or at the very least dont drill in bare feet...........
  17. So..... after pricing up my turbo build on the 6 cylinder i hit a block wall no one was keen to build it out of fear it wouldnt last long pistons and rods were astronomically expensive and the auto box thats in their now has just decided to give me the middle finger no more cruising dammit. whats a man to do? short answer buy a v8 for it. stay tuned 5 litres of fuel injected goodness has been bought. I also have a big soft spot for holdens v8 and this a VT engine was just to good to pass up. I did end up buying 2 garrett turbo's for the 6 dunno if i'm brave enough to use them on the v8.
  18. Wouldnt be surprised if Coby still do a bolt on system for the old mk5 headers to tailpipe. i worked at Woolf for a stint ages ago Before Alan Woolf left and Jason took over. Jason knows his stuff ring and ask for him he owns the escort in reception talking pinto with him would be a great start.
  19. had similar problem on the mini i had fucked around for ages turned out the slave had dropped its guts fixed that bled it still no go turned out the clutch hose had collapsed and would work like a non return valve. gave me all levels of drama. would jamn in out half way in between you name it took me ages to figure it out.
  20. Liking your choice of wheels they fill out the arches pretty damn good will make going low interesting. The old car big wheels and low you only seem to be able to have 2 of those 3 things easy.
  21. Yeah I've got a tr unit on mine works sweet as. No clearance issues tr stuff is usually more compact in most cases for any new parts.
  22. Lucas fuel pump are fine just rebuild it and run a decent gauge wire to it from battery with a relay. Saw a sweet heat sink setup for them using alloy Fins and a cpu fan. Got the triumph tr6 service manual at hand if you need more detail with the pi stuff.
