  1. Pulley kit will be happening for it might buy a 10psi pulley and a 14 in case the engine doesn't like it. Be happy just to do a few dyo races a mid 15 quarter would make my day its a calais so really is too heavy to be very fast.
  2. Was thinking of slapping a 14psi pulley on and rigging up some water alcohol injection. E85 injection could work well here maybe? done 300000 ks would hazard a guess it had a rebuild recently as its 1000 ks off a service and the oil is like golden syrup perfect.
  3. Bought a parts car today which after 20 bucks at wash world is looking like a keeper now. Anyway its got the supercharged v6 in its a vx commonwhore as it is its pretty bloody rapid seeing i only bought it for the upholstery im thinking i might bang a pulley kit on and up the boost for some low buck dragstrip action. How far can you bump it up before shit gets hairy engine wise?

    PAINT THREAD

i just do that kind of shit with a micro roller no over spray no gun to clean. Mainly because i did a few commercial painting jobs and have boxes of the things handy for dings etc sands up nice.
  5. My mini did the exact same thing was a combination of things the slave cylinder wasnt returning (poked) replaced that and when i bled the clutch found the line had collapsed internally. 65 ish in parts i found the clutch plate was seized to the flywheel locked in first key off and rocked it back and forth. Started up and was a good one mine sat for 3 years though. Unbolt your slave cylinder and see if you get drive while aimed way from fences etc.
  6. You can squeeze a 13" wheel on a mini provided you are prepared for big flares. I got mine sitting on 16" works at one stage it moved and rubbed on full lock reality was they were too big. depends what your prepared to move to fit the wheel you want anythings possible 13s look great 14s at a stretch with tiny tyres.
  7. Whats the deal with snow tyres? They offer so little traction i dont see how they are legal in nz in any towns it doesn't snow. I failed a warrant on them heaps of tread etc changed them wow never again. Maybe for burnouts.....
  8. Bet a triumph motor would fit your wiper setup lucas splattered those units on alsorts.
  9. You need Castrol oil and a nice big glob of moreys in your sump hell moreys works in most things power steer diffs its good value.
  10. Cheeky bugger Connor my girlfriend and i both agree he should sell it to me......
  11. Will come up with something to get some sexier wheels on or at very least drop it over current ones. A landy roof would be cool if i can find one, A tow bar to hang a bike rack on would be awesome too.
  12. Bugs me the wheels aren't in centre of wheel arch but for amount of work to move the axle i think I'll learn to live with it. It is so gloriously shiny yet haggard right now i better sort some plates so i can get some mud on it.
  13. Yup 3 wires. All good no reflector though.
  14. The package lights came in is a bit non descriptive however on the actual units it states tail and brake lights. Just powered up off a battery and really bloody bright confident no one will plow up ass of this one unlike my other trailer.... which is for sale offers over 12k
  15. Was hoping could re use wiring but its all twisted taped wires underneath so nek job tmrw. Hit bodywork with a dacron mini roller in end its got so many random holes drilled in it thought i best focus on getting it road worthy than getting carried away. But did use some nice hi tech waterborne enamel which has really tidied it up and will give a solid base for whatever i do next.
  16. Yup sure is http://i.imgur.com/k5krbh3.jpg http://i.imgur.com/gIOx2jV.jpg Phone pics and links oops.
  17. Stop tail and a clear strip in bottom for number plate all built into red ones. Saw a set on a landy today so im happy will get photos up tonight been out and about today. If i can get away without a reverse light come wof time i wont bother seems pointless on 150kgs of trailer.
  18. I calibrated torque equipment at my last job and pneumatic stuff could vary rediculously so banging a torque stick on to a rattle gun that may or may not be working correctly is just waiting for trouble. The best torque wrench i came across was a warren&brown so accurate next is norbar teng are shit the rest are barely reusable after 12 months. Buy one of the above if your using it at work get it calibrated youll sleep better.
  19. It has a basic frame to support the floor and has a standard trailer style solid axle with leaf springs few blisters here and there but very solid someone had replaced the drawbar not to long ago with 5x50 box section shes good to go but will roll it over and get a wire wheel on it then some 2 pot.
  20. Super cheap auto had a special on what i assume were an unpopular trailer light today absolutely perfect period style 63mm round jobbies so for under 40 bucks i got 2 amber and 2 red when fitting them found them to have leds too. Not exactly landy style but do look right. Oh and i painted it too and made a tailgate as it never had one. tmrw should have pics of what will likely be its finished guise for a while.
  21. Hey dolan could be keen on the lights you have at work what shape are they? Will probably get some from rimmers but want to use this thing asap.
  22. So today saw that shitty basket up front come off so many huge blobby welds massive chunks of rebar to cut thru. Drawbar all cleaned up and painted satin black zinc paint. Tmrw may see whole body get painted red or black got paint to do either colour hmm. Washed it down to see what i was working with white paint has been done with a brush guessing house paint it all basically fell off.
  23. If anyone has some old style tail light that would suit this pm me as i think modern led ones will look shit. Mk1 Escort capri hell anything flat mounting.
  24. Was stoked had to wait for anyone at tip to claim it first so 20 bucks towards their after work beers sealed the deal. Not even play in wheel bearings just needs new lights and im away oh and a tailgate the basket on front can go though
  25. 7"s are all itll take by the looks tyres are bees dick from rear leaf spring mount however a healthy dose of slam is possible if i do a C notch and a bit inner guard work. Going to fit some shocks because it gets the hell bounce on due to being so light hopefully it will tame it a bit.
