  1. Shitty neighbors few houses up partied till 4 am last night.... ruined their sleep in this morning with donuts on my back lawn around 8am then ripping past their house got middle finger from the guy behind me once he figured out what I was up to I got the thumbs up. Fuck think I may have stretched my chain doing it though. Need to rethink my chain tensioner to cope with engine braking.
  2. My only experience with 2 strokes is with one of these engines...... exact same thing flywheel spat the 6mm cap screw and ate stuff fixed that and clutch exploded ending my interest in that engine. Sure it's going to be sorted easily.
  3. Fuck yes! Sounds half way between a swarm of wasps with laser beams on their heads and a huge chainsaw. Don't spare the safety gear on your first ride picking it'll be an absolute handful to ride.
  4. Got sick of staring at the exhaust and kicked myself in the ass for been lazy when I first built it. Both pipes now enter the muffler straight I also linished off the welds and pulled the front pipe 50mm closer in after burning my jeans. Minute power gain possibly as i spent about 4 hours making sure every pipe matched up nicely and no gases blowing into restrictions. Thats Saturday gone..... if its not making 20hp now I'd be surprised I'm also sure if I took it to a Dyno people would keel over with laughter.
  5. Had a brainwave to solve the taking off without me dying issue, "Launch Control" Being a twin i've got 2 independent coils if i rig up a momentry button on the bars to ground one coil i can take off with 10 ish horsepower then engage beastmode once rolling, kind of a design disaster but i cant take the covers off with the engine in the frame as i put the bars around the engine to protect it if i came off. Turbo will have to wait (I will do it) till i cave and put this in something with suspension and possibly a numberplate.
  6. Got hands on a Go-pro Actual moving video with ridiculous mechanical noise.
  7. Misses has admitted she's keen on one with a smaller engine. 50cc will be plenty for her will build hers so we can explore waiheke etc, she's bought an adults scooter that will be ideal. It's hanging upside down at present no need to adjust your screens.
  8. Can confirm it does the speed limit and has plenty more in it. Really needs a Cvt now makes peak torque just as the clutch engages resulting in the first 3 or so meters on the back wheel, if you get your weight up front though it'll wheel spin till your bored.
  9. Fuel in the tank was from the bottle I was using it was full. Fuel lines are bit complicated but the fuel pumps 30 micron filter presented a bit of a head scratcher so this will do for Now so I don't kill the pump.
  10. Bracket to mount it not Kimjon spec but it works. Also fitted an Air filter and strangely enough Headlights they look stupid but work quite well.
  11. Fitted 1.5 litre go-ped fuel tank today so has enough juice for around an hour of hooning. I bought 2 but they end up been bigger then I was expecting so didn't tuck into the frame where I wanted them to go.
  12. What's the name of the app? @cletus tried heaps to clock my machine most just show me adds or flatten my battery.
  13. Just buy one of these Engel Fridges used to have them in work vans I used to have. Hold a dozen beers and 2 litres of milk no worries on a hot day you would have to crank the engine up around midday or you weren't starting up at 4. But they did get things icy from warm and keep them cold. I once filled mine with snow in the south island bought it back to Auckland so my kids could see it/postpone another expensive holiday.
  14. The only way it could be any cooler is if he drove it to work on Fridays.
  15. Yeah nah....yeah maybe. pretty much the only place it could go where oil can drain straight down into engine exhaust would have to feed in from top on my V Twins. Not sure if I can be bothered. My old man came over on weekend and showed me a concrete saw fitted with same engine as my scooter running a supercharger.
  16. Onto the cold side. Hmmm plenty of dead bugs in here impeller is mint! Should just need a tidy up and call it done. Will flush out the oil feed and drain probably a weta or something living up there.
  17. when I ran 25h chain it just used to biff it on road usually. Tack welding the clip on the link seemed to help a lot if you find they fall apart.
  18. Moves free as now. Hopefully vanes are going the right way.....
  19. So far I've gutted the VGT assembly's freed it all up and got it moving properly again, the casting on the inside of the exhaust housing was pretty ugly so have gone at it with a flap wheel on a drill and got it looking much nicer and should flow better. It has no play at all in the shaft the blades are almost Perfect apart from 2 which are slightly bent (bugger all) I think I'll leave them be instead of attempting to straighten them. Please chime in if there's stuff I can do to make improvements on the factory offering.
  20. Seeing as my scooter has reached the point of working reliably I've started going thru my stash of parts and pulled out this turbo I was a given a few years ago. It's a garret GT2056V reportedly of a VW Touareg that got changed out under warranty after digging through a few google specs on it can support upwards of 250hp, however these happen to work well on motorcycles as well. Great as I'm doing up MK4 VW Golf wagon as well as the "Can never have to much power Scooter the Death-Ped" So for shits and giggles and to see if it's a dud or not I've started cleaning it up and discovered why the exhaust housing is huge! it's not your normal beast with a waste gate, Nope it's a Variable geometry Turbo which I don't know shit about seeing as the actuator wasn't able to move I've cracked it open.
  21. Make it run...... the body can be done later more importantly what does a 4 cylinder 2stroke sound like?
  22. They look like one of those plastic toddler cars right?
  23. Surely it would be better suited to one of these? If only they were as cheap as a real AU falcon....
