  1. All that shit would look great in my backyard.... do you want to part with any of it.
  2. Before and after. About 9 months and $250 later. I'm keeping this one but am on look for another.
  3. Stand the whole arrangement up like an IDA Webber on a rotang and chop a hole on the bonnet.
  4. Height is the kicker for exhaust can you raise the engine enough so your have the exhaust ports above chassis without driveshaft angles getting horrible? If so adapt a sidedraft carby like a dellorto to keep it under the seat, no huge mods then to chassis. Please run 4" side pipes like a 70's panel (porno) van. You can always swap out the Toyota with a Real mopar Hemi later. Or fit a smaller engine like the more compact big block chev.
  5. 4l60 from early commodores vn-vp wouldn't be hard to to obtain yes they break if throw lots of power at them but you won't be nor drag racing. Probably be a bellhousing adapter floating around hotrod groups if you put word out.
  6. I've got a 24 volt mobility scooter motor here if yours doesn't work out.
  7. Borrowed a go pro, and got my son to try break it, success takes beatings like a boss even with me on it. Shit it sounds ace too! Kept killing spark plugs which were unobtainable due to covid. So once I found some I bought lots. Switched to 100 octane and it's way happier. Enjoy, only short but I was getting utterly pelted.
  8. Partially blocked main jet, this thing sat for years apparently, the fuel cap rusted solid and crumbled in to the tank so there's some left overs still making their way out.
  9. This has been parked next to my v twin scooter that hardly ever gets used now because it's not road legal. I've noticed there is a massive amount of space under the seat and between the chassis tubes on this...... if the 2 stroke packs a sad I think this might get a highly illegal but hidden engine swap, tape measure confirms heads will fit and I could make it bolt on to swingarm therefore reversible.
  10. v6 swap it. Probably more Mazda v6's around then gtx gear these days.
  11. Near Picture less update.... its alive again was indeed some gunk in the carb that had bypassed the filter ultra ultra fine sediment. Will fit post and pre filters so it has a fighting chance of not seeing dirt In carb. Suspension has settled, for reference look where the muffler used to sit compared to now. It's so much nicer to ride and get on and off.
  12. Stumbled across this thinking it would be a Hick brazing scrap metal together. Involves 3d printed parts sound science and he even builds an app to monitor air fuel ratio. Good watch.
  13. Guess my lucky break had to end have put a 1000 ks on it over summer.... she finally let me down lost power going to get dinner tonight and died. Will fire up and idle then bogs down when you give it some juice. Feels fuel related as it's turning over nice and idles, just changed all the fuel lines so maybe some shit got disturbed and is sitting on the jet.
  14. Yeah been watching his stuff, I was keen for ages to run twin charged but tuning it myself would of been a nightmare, so I got rid of the blower and just bought a decent quality turbo its not a garrett but its decent and the brand has an excellent reputation on turbo LS stuff. I'm currently at a crossroad considering doing a rebore fitting new pistons and opening the ring gaps up.
  15. Ripped into it this morning job done before 10am Selected shock from my small hoard of Chinese manufactured motor parts chopped the fork off old shock and welded to base of a quad shock. Fitted test rode as expected is mint no longer wobbly when pushing through corners. Got home and shortened 20mm out of side stand so I dont have worry about it falling over. Tried lowering front.... to much work at this stage still happy though.
  16. 100mm drop in rear with good suspension travel. I think this thing has had the wrong shock from factory as it feels perfect now seat is level and comfortable. Test ride needed before I commit to new shock mount and chop up stands to regain ground clearance. Will drop front 20mm too.
  17. Trailered into Hamilton today and burned around town for 3 hours today coffee shop hopping. Got around just fine even in 80k areas it'll punch along at 75 and no one gets pissed off. I found I struggle to touch the ground and the seat slopes forward which makes it uncomfortable to ride, without sliding forward on the seat im on my tip toes...... this won't do. So this is a before picture I guess.
  18. I had mine reflashed by a guy on a 300zx forum back in the day it instantly made 11psi and did 9l/100k after doing an exhaust Was an absolute joy to own I bought it with a broken trans and nothing else went wrong with it at all after I fixed that.
  19. I used to bolt batteries to the vibration bench at my old work while charging certainly made them better then ever after they sat for a week all crap rattled off plates settles to bottom of battery.
  20. Paint looks cool from afar but isn't fantastic due to it been the first thing I've sprayed in years. Maybe over winter I'll throw a better coat of colour over it. It's a bit orange peely. Anyway rode for an hour today can jump in 70k zones without pissing people off now with air filter fixed it holds top end way better.
  21. With the price of gas lately this has been doing all the usual running around. Did some service things to it, the air filter elbow never stayed on properly so was constantly popping off the carb which made it use heaps of gas and stink of petrol. It had shrunk so I carved it back to the right size with a Stanley knife then dremmeled the lip back in to it. There's a small fuel leak somewhere so I'll replace all the fuel lines and chuck a new filter in soon. I also wire wheeled all the scabby stuff you could see including the wheels and hit the lot with CRC black zinc. Its looking presentable now.
  22. Oldschool.co.nz economy drags? Where you run 30 passes top your tanks off calculate your consumption against a excel spreadsheet with a pie graph to award the winner.
  23. Hmm I think I might need to strip it down tidy up some of my early welds with my old dying welder and paint it. One handling characteristic im not enjoying is it darting on tarseal small inputs equal sharp turns and 3 wheeling, it doesn't do it on grass exact opposite it'll go flat out on grass feeling stable as anything. On sealed surfaces it gives me the shits above 60k. I've measured it all up found the track front and rear vary by only 2.5mm so can string line it, took some toe out of it was even worse put more in it went back to how it was. What's the trick even more toe? Get rid of the second hand front tyres??
