  7. So i took the propshaft in and they reckoned it was badly bent at the back, wtf!! They straightened it just before the hamner meet last year and that plus a couple of trips round the city is all the driving I've done, seemed to happen just before I got on the motorway yesterday.. pretty stumped, better not fail again..

Bit of a pictureless update, gave the zed a service, plugs, filter etc then took her for a 100km burn pre nats, temp stayed good, bit of a nasty hesitation but I drilled out the accel pump jets when I got home and seemed to fix it mostly.. Think I'm gonna have to wear ear muffs coz fuck me its noisy.. Aaand motherfucken propshaft is vibrating round a hundy again gosh darn it, took it off and there is a bit of slack in the uni's.. gonna take it in tomorrow and see if they can do and emergency repair for me.. Edit* oh, and was gonna clip some coils this afternoon but then I need an alignment which I don't have enough time for, also did a half weld on my exhaust which looks super shit as it was windy and kept blowing the gas away haha.. oh well
  9. Mines a double that I don't fancy cutting in half.. more for the reason that it would be permanently deflated.. Should be something in northwood if your coming that way..
  10. So as I was going to go down the spring route, I filled a couple of springs with silicon and left them to dry on the assumption that it would increase torsional strength.. Fail, no different.. Turned up a fiiting to adapt the spring to the other carb.. scrapped, Bought some small uni's made a couple of connecting shafts.. Fitted them, installed everything, I'm a little worried about having plastic in the engine bay, hopefully they don't melt.. wasn't running to well initially, like a sack of shit really. Mixture adjustment did nothing on #1 carb.. pulled the tops off and blew some air down all the bleeds/jets etc, and finally it ran smooth albeit with some hesitation. There's three holes for accel pump adjustment, was in the center but moved by mistake to the leanest one so has a rather large stall halfway across a busy roundabout with impatient people beeping at me hesitation.. will move it to the richest ones this week. Has some great noises coming from the engine bay now, am gonna buy some small sieves and use the mesh over the carbs till I get some proppa gear. Deff runs better, not as fast as I imagined, but a bit more urgency and winds out far easier than before.. Got some tyres on sat, got a bit worried that I'd overdone the dish when a saw how much rubber overhung the edge of the rim.. but bless me, has worked out good. Put them rims on.. Needs a fair amount of low, might ping one or two coils on the front this week some time when I'm painting the rims.. needs to low ride but

  13. Right, so as per this post I flagged all my half baked ideas and went down this track. Went into acorn models on thurs and bought a couple of boat propshaft unis, while they're plastic/brass and not aluminium the guy assures me that they will be up to the task of turning a throttle shaft.. Dang.. forgot to turn fotobucket back on.. will upload some pics tomorrow, has worked anyway and very well too
