  1. The build thread title made me laugh mate, loving your work!
  2. Shore meet at Back Yard Bar beforehand? If it isn't raining...
  3. Loving your Morris Minor!
  4. Cool. Body looks pretty good for a 929 Wagon. Any rust under front windscreen or is that restricted to RX-3's and 808's? The undersealing looks awesome and I like where you have mounted your surge and pumps. Never done a wagon before but it's on the cards..
  5. Yeah mate. By the way pretty sure you only live around the corner me..
  6. Stickers are good. Pretty keen to come to one of these.. However, none of my cars go out in the rain. Sorry, they just don't like water (Mazda's come from the factory with rust) so rain is a no go. Cold yes, rain no.. To sum up: Good weather=yes
  7. The part numbers from this site haven't been used since 1999 so still no good for getting help from Mazda but i really appreciate the help!
  8. Problem is they have all told me they are exactly the same as the originals. Yet the rare spares ones don't have clips or a way to fit them. Phils Rotaries ones have the clips but are shit and Scotts old rubbers don't answer the phone or answer e-mails. And Mazda NZ are sick and tired of questions about 40 year old cars apparently..
  9. Thanks for the heads up. Don't really want to 'Glue them on', that's not what Nana intended. Will look at option F.
  10. This man speaks the truth... I got mine from there and they wouldnt stay on even with Ados as they have no clips... shit really. Gaz Could clips be removed from old door rubbers and fitted to Rare Spares sets or is there a design fault with these. Would be pissed if I spent $300 on door rubbers that wouldn't stay on..
  11. Cool, heard a bit about these guys too. Will try calling them tomorrow too.
  12. Nice one, even if you could just find out what Mazda 808/RX-3 coupe bits are still around would be sweet.
  13. This is what I want to avoid. Taiwanese carp. Will try Mazda tomorrow..
  14. SWEET! Just did a few laps sitting shot-gun! Pity the sound isn't to great (love the sound of a Tang) but still enjoyed the ride around none the less. Thank you for sharing.
  15. O.k. everyone I would like some feedback from people who have used either Phils Rotaries or Rare Spares replacement door rubbers please. I know most of the Mazda owners out there reckon Phils Rotaries in Brsbane's replacement panels are shit. I have seen a pair of his front guards that were shit and wouldn't line up etc. But not heard anything about his replacement door rubbers. I can buy left and right door rubbers for $110AUS posted to my home. Or Rare Spares in Christchurch sell each door at $130 each so a set would cost me nearly $300 posted to me here in Dorkland. Money isn't a problem. I would happily pay more for a superior product but really have no idea which ones I would go for. I want/need them to be as near as possible to the originals. Has anyone out here used either companies door rubbers and have any advice to offere please? Any opinions are greatly appreciated!
  16. Hmm that is where I would start. Had an old commodore that used to do this when it was low of trans fluid.
  17. Thanks for the reply. I was told the same thing, that modern turbo vechicles didn't need them, but I wanted to be sure. I am also going to alarm it, and have seen that Moongoose 5 stars come with a built in turbo timer so will probably go with that. But I am still interested to hear from any one else with opinions about Turbo timers etc..
  18. Hi everyone. I have just bought a 1995 Hilux Surf 3.0ltr Turbo Desiel and it doesn't currently have a turbo timer fitted. So my question to the poeple who know is: Does it need one? If it does what would be the best kind to get and where is the best place to get one from? Oh, and are they easy to fit or do I need someone to fit it for me. Sorry if these are all dumb questions but this is the first turbo vechicle I have bought..
  19. If you want a good WOF from a Good bunch of Blokes, Saunders Automotive on the North Shore (Gfield) will set you right and will clearly explain what your car would need (if anything). They are Mechanics and oldschool car fans (they have built a few Hot Rods) and Karl (foreman) used to work at Giltrap Holden and has an excellent reputation in the Holden community (his brother builds custom Harleys). Took my Mazda in there when I first got it for a miliion point check over and they picked up on a few things I had missed. Good blokes and all speak English as a first language. However, they are also sticklers for the rules, so wouldn't pass your car on anything dodgy, but would explain why it failed and how you could fix it. But after all, who they hell would want a dodgy Wof anyway? It's your safety and they safety of other road users as well! If you want a dodgy WOF try First Motors. They are famous on the shore for not caring and pretty much passing anything. They do not speak English though and my Chinesse isn't very good.
  20. Depends on what you mean. VTNZ have different laws for vehicle ages. They make allowances for my Morris Minor as they know the brakes sucked from the factory. They never give me grief about the seat belts in my Mazda (or lack of rear ones) as that's how they came from the factory. Same goes with the Holdem. So if your car is old but still road worthy any WOF place will be fine. However if your car is old and rusty lowered on chopped springs than VTNZ isn't really the place to go. So, what do you mean by going easy on your car? What concerns do you have? I know a couple of places on the Shore for WOFs.
  21. Mate, this will be my first offical meet with these blokes too! If you meet up with us all at the Backyard Bar before hand with all the other Shorebased oldschoolers everything should work out just fine.
  22. It was mentioned (by me) but others prefered Onepoto. I for one would prefer Poe/Backyard bar carpark..
