    dirty ho bikes

Suzuki are pretty good for parts for there older bikes, but be prepared to spend a couple thousand on parts to fix it, I use to be a motorcycle mechanic if you need any help/ suggestions I might be able to help,
  2. Front rims are totally unobtainable so I am going to fabricate some
  3. I dont think i can, a rod poking out the side of the block moves the points so carnt attach one
  4. Another interesting thing I have been reading about is that the later transmission oils even tho they are yellow metal safe have friction modifiers that cause the old bronze syncros to slip and nor grab properly witch cuts there life in half.
  5. Got a pair of new front rims coming, they are a 5 stud but I think its a wider spacing so I will need to weld the holes up and re drill them, I have no idea what oil to put in the diff, I might just wack in some 80W, Also need points and condenser witch seem impossible to find in nz.
  6. buy a realy big cap screw and turn it down and rethread it
  7. Changed the oil in the gearbox, I need to replace the chain its pretty worn, the sprockets are a bit hooked but I will give them a grind up, the front one is welded to the jack shaft from factory.
  8. When I pushed the tractor in neutral there was a scrapping rattling sound from the diff, for some reason there was heeps of side to side movement in that middle gear, I shimmed it with a hardened washer and now it dosnt scrape on the other gear so I would say thats good now. The tin cover is bonded on with clacking compound, I have brazed in a bung so I can get lube into it easy, I am unsure what type tho
  9. Repaired shroud is bolted back on with a new paint job, green hammerite because I had it on the shelf already,
  10. They need to be 5 stud or they wont fit my hubs, I will check those places out, thanks.
  11. I fixed the rust in the fan shroud, all the air would have escaped out this hole, I must say the last owner did do alot of rust preventive coatings on parts witch has helped it in the time it sat outside This thing is the primary drive cover, it had fallen off from rust, I had to replace half the top and weld in a few patches, its very pitted. The cover witch covers the drive chain had all the mounting points rusted off, I still need to drill the holes. Belts are falling apart and so is the starter solenoid, the blue thing under the carb is the fuel pump witch i bed needs fixing and the little cover with the wire coming out of it to the left is the points cover, there seems to be no condenser, I gess its missing I need to find x2 8" x 90ish front wheels, I think they sell them at bunnings but they are 4 stud, I could blitz the centers out and make new ones.
  12. I saw this thing and couldn't pass on it I have been after a lawn tractor for a wile, this thing is huge and heavy duty, it has a 14 HP Kohler motor and a 3 speed gearbox, mowing decks are long gone, the main problem it has been sitting for along time, brake had seized and the belt drive cover has rusted off as well as the cover over the chain to the gearbox, seat has rusted out and the foam has ferns growing out of it, front rims are shot. If someone could help me find some front rims I would be happy, they are 8" and about 90mm wide they are 5 stud but I think I could weld in new centers to a good set of rims I want to find an old tractor seat and cut the one off the reactor it has now, someone has welded it on so if anyone has anything like that I will take it off your hands. There is an idler gear in the diff I think I can remove through the cover that needs a new bush only because I am fussy but other than that it seems ok.
  13. Where would I find some little 8" trailer rims like this in nz ? http://www.loadstartrailertires.com/Boat-Trailer-Tire-480-x-8-on-Galvanized-Wheel-5-Lug-Rim-590lb-by-Loadstar_p_34.html
  14. drive the sedan or the shotgun shell pickup
  15. Where would I find a top hose # ch1312 or 050413 by tommrow morning?

    Muffler Tech

How about having both 3" headers poking out just behind the front wheels but capped off then twin 2.5" with mufflers?

I would say one 3" will be more than enough, I did have a 3" on my XF v8, it fitted ok, there is enough room, it was 3" from the collectors then merged into one 3" with a 50 series flowmaster in front of the diff
  18. I did regret selling that, I got a KX witch was a bit too much for the nabours I put that motor together with the best parts from those other motors, they are hard to come by now because of the speedway solos and midget car guys used them all up.
  19. That looks cool, I like the wood gran. I would be the one you got the motor off
  20. I have now got an electronic hall effect distributor and high energy coil, I carn't use copper leads anymore as they give off interference witch can screw with the trigger.
  21. I went and had a look at auto stop they had Bosh Supersport inductive core leads witch are nice What hat do the numbers mean on them? 106 & 505 & 609? I thought they were just universal leads are they different values?
