ThePog Posted August 7, 2024 Author Posted August 7, 2024 So i did a thing where I bought another case with many sata ports, I didnt even bother to reinstall Truenas, I just booted it up in the new pc which all worked surprisingly. And no difference in the speed. So I checked other devices on the network and my wired htpc/nuc device will copy at 50mbps. 6mbps from my laptop across a wireless bridge. On a lappy on the wireless it will do 10mbps. So the wireless bridge might be holding things up, I might give it a tweak. 1 Quote
ThePog Posted August 10, 2024 Author Posted August 10, 2024 Interestingly one of the wireless bridge power injection units shat itself on Thursday. I replaced it and things are faster. I also improved the dish alignment which kindof helped too. And I bumped up the transmit power even though they are only 20m apart. Also I realised I was mixing Megabits and Megabytes like a noob. So in reality I am now getting 11 megabytes (88 megabits) over my 100 megabit bridge so actually about right. Good work dickhead. Anyway the new Nas looks way more convincing without so much hackery in there. Next I might move the modem into my cabin so I wont ever notice a power cut at all. Quote
Bling Posted August 10, 2024 Posted August 10, 2024 Ahhh the old rookie mistake with bits/bytes, makes quite the difference! 1 Quote
