I had some time during the last week of the xmas break to give the underside a tidy up.

I dragged it into my works workshop and lifted it up on the hoist for ergonomic reasons, no way I can fit under this at home haha. Its factory C notched!

I wire brushed the rails and hit with Brunox and sealed it with quick dry black. Came up reasonably well.

While it was in the air I noticed I broke the leaf slipper off at some point? haha So I've got some hot glue gun work to do before it's next outing.

Also tarnished the inners wheel tubs with the black stuff too, they scrubbed up nicely...

I made up a new slipper thing out of scrap RHS and had a bolt inserted (not pictured) then a local mate came round and zapped it in for me.

Wheels back on, and the van is back on the ground.

I also purchased some quality non abrasive white wall cleaner whilst I was at Kumeu the other weekend.

I love cruising this thing on the new Hamilton/Auckland expressway, handles like a dream!

We just had our 36th annual Lilliput club Rally in Taupo, soooo much fun. And you never know when you'll stumble apon a fellow "old schooler"

Nothing to report from the van, but a quick mod on the tow wagon.

I had these LED work lights hooked up (thanks Lance @ Autowire) to assist when you're fucking around with the hitch at camp grounds at night, and generally speaking....

They've also doubled as an anti tailgate warning to the unassuming as I've discovered haha. I've had them hooked up to a toggle switch, didn't plan this lol 

Other wise, I've been using the van over the summer break which has been enjoyably. It's nice to hook up, hit the road and park up where ever.

Here's some updates to share on my van!

I'm going from blue to green! Had the side flash painted the same color as the tow wagon, with a cool touches such as the rear scallop and the inside of the door painted to match the side flash when open.

Also had the white gel coat polished, it came up really nice with a good shine!

Ripped off the old vinal stone guards and commissioned Nakija Klaus in Tauranga to design and fab up some stainless panels to suite. They are formed to match the curvature of the van. Turned out a treat

The draw bar had seen better days, it had some real agricultural fuckery going on and I'm surprised it lasted this long, as I've done a fair amount of milage draging the van around the country.

I've got a mate named Krugar who is our resident Lilliput club resto guy helping out with fitting up a new draw bar and other needed maintenance.

I plan on fitting a tow ball mounted bike rack on the draw bar so that I can fit a couple of bikes or my old Raleigh Chopper

Also the axel has been removed, had a bit of a David Bowie going on resulting in some negative camber wear. So that's been straightened 

And some rear floor rot removed (common in these old Lilliputs)
