79siggy
I need more power in my 1979 Mitsi Sigma. It's the 4G32 1.6 with the solex mikuni single carb. I was leaning towards the idea of supercharging it. I've never ran boost through a carby so I'm unsure if an untouched, unopened carb would be able to handle a blow through setup. Was wondering if someone's done this in the past and be able to give me some pointers. All help is appreciated.
cletus
There's a few tricks to blowing through a carb, you might find it's too difficult to get parts /jets etc to tune one of those carbs to run blow through. Suck through would probably be easier Have a look in the projects thread, theres a sigma in there getting a supercharger install If it's a 1.6 it might be easier to put a bigger engine in instead
cletus
theturboforums.com https://www.hangar18fabrication.com/blowthru.html These have some info on the subject, it's American so mostly based around holley carbs but it gives you some idea of how it all works
JustHarry
As above. Put a bigger motor in it. 4g63 with a mild cam and a Weber 32/36 will be a good power maker. Not huge But by comparison will be a fun car to drive
RUNAMUCK
You cant supercharged blow through a carb without also fitting a TB to the supercharger inlet.
