markw
My car was liberally fish oiled by the panel beater I used a long time ago. Now that I'm re-restoring it, I need to remove a lot of it. I hate this stuff. Does anybody have any good tips for efficiently removing it?
nzstato
Try and get the bulk off with mineral turps/paint thinners. Remaining residue might be susceptable to acetone, or if you can find it use dichloromethane/methylene chloride - be careful that is the active ingredient in paint strippers

Fish oil does a good job of denying rust a start..
ssmwalker
Hi guys. I've just done a job on the inside front door of my 80 series. I tried turps, isopropyl alcohol and white spirits. The winner? - white spirits. Just had to use a number of rags to wipe away the old fish oil and a bit elbow grease, plus a of scrubbing with a brillo pad. Worked a treat.
