ThePog
I am trying to install a TP-Link wifi dongle onto my router control box, it is running LinuxCNC which is pretty much Debian/Wheezy. All the tutorials and even the instructions included in the TP-Link drivers i downloaded assume a certain amount of prior knowledge and understanding which I am nowhere near. Some of the issue is that the machine has no network connection so I am trying to do it all locally and nearly every video has shit about updating libraries and shit online which I cannot do. Any help would be appreciated...
h4nd
I had a related problem. I bought a usb to eth device something like https://www.trademe.co.nz/computers/networking-modems/network-cards/listing-2849438105.htm Plugged in, re-installed my OS, and then I had network to make the other bit work OK. Can you take your box to the network to get the WiFi bits working, than come back to the router?

Bling
How long? I have some cable somewhere that I could terminate for you. I would need it back though so may not work for you if you'll need it in future.
ThePog
I rolled the router closer to the router (ha!) And found a long cable in my stash. And I am still completely stumped
EpochNZ
Are you able to point us to a web page that has the docos that came with the TP-Link? Or let us know what model it is? I'm keen to see what they expect you to do.

There is a chunk of prior knowledge that i just don't have.
